Apple also makes some terrible cables… they make alot of really good products but their charging cables are just terrible and they alway fail at the same point (and that means that they are not doing anything about it). Its been like this the last 15 years
I know this video is old but whenever happens when my cord breaks say are used to use those ones that would usually come with your phone or iPad or anything and you know how you plug them in the cord leading down to the block at the top where I plugged in he gets so hot that it was Melts down until I can see the wire
Now we know the true reason apple wants to stop including cables in the box
