Finally a simple affordable smart smoke alarm. I’m sold! 👏👏👏

  2. @bobtrezise4735 on January 16, 2025 at 7:44 pm

Needing to replace my outdated/expired smoke detector and doing my research. I d/l the app to see if I could tell what controlling options were available. You didn’t cover if you could silence the alarm via the app. I also think you should have covered that the X-sense app insists on you having an account, i.e. X-sense having an email to send you junk, before you can add the device.

I am planning to go out of the country for a month. Will this send notifications to my phone ( without any google nest or Home Pod) ?

  4. @feeesta on January 16, 2025 at 7:48 pm

Can it be added to HomeKit?

  5. @josephcarino5829 on January 16, 2025 at 7:49 pm

I have read a ton of reviews where people said they couldn’t get it to turn off and other issues.

  6. @KingAbaddon on January 16, 2025 at 7:52 pm

I like the voice location of the onelink. Rather hear where it is than a color code. Imo

  7. @444powerstroke on January 16, 2025 at 7:52 pm

Thanks for video. Wish you would have showed the alert coming in (WITH AUDIO) over your phone.

  8. @Biodrone1556 on January 16, 2025 at 7:56 pm

Hello, can alarm be disabled from far away, lets say from other city, by using the app? Thank you

  9. @phyllisgarrison2887 on January 16, 2025 at 8:00 pm

I’m not very technical but this product seems easy to install and understand. The 10 year battery is a plus and I like that it shows a source alarm. Seems like a fair price to me.

  10. @pattijocushman8738 on January 16, 2025 at 8:00 pm

do you have to get the app?

  11. @matthewmullen4506 on January 16, 2025 at 8:01 pm

Great job George. Nice product simple and priced right

  12. @KBradley2 on January 16, 2025 at 8:01 pm

Thank you for the review. How about testing the X-SENSE XP-02-WR (can connect up to 18 in a network), and it tells you by voice, which unit/room is going off. Looks like a less expensive option than the -07. Doesn’t have the digital display, but has voice alert, location alert, and less $. Please test, and let me know what you think. Comes in 1pk, 3pk, and 6-pk. Wonder about the sensitivity vs the other X-Sense models??

  13. @ianmcalister8172 on January 16, 2025 at 8:02 pm

For the price and it not much more than typical smoke alarm, seems like a great value. Another thought….what if there’s an issue with power. Being that these are only battery they should work the very end.

  14. @nkemjikaobinna2407 on January 16, 2025 at 8:03 pm

What’s the Max number of device you can have on the X-sense App?

  15. @SSUKBD on January 16, 2025 at 8:06 pm

Hi, can you please help. I bought a XS03-WX model 2nd hand WiFi smoke alarm from eBay.
I successfully connected with X-Sense home security app.
Problem is its giving alarm randomly in 10 to 30 minutes but there is no smoke.
Can you tell me why it’s randomly giving out alarm without any smoke. Anyway to fix it?

  16. @ThurowSmartHome on January 16, 2025 at 8:08 pm

    George,
I am currently using two wifi connected First Alert Smoke/Co2 detectors. These devices are connected directly to my SmartThings hub. This allows for automations like when smoke is detected, turn lights orange, when Co2 is detected then turn lights yellow. It also will send notifications in the form of push, audible, and SMS text messages to those chosen.

  18. @technovre8799 on January 16, 2025 at 8:11 pm

A very good video, I just installed 3 of these in my house but having difficultly adding the smoke detectors to the app. I press the button to get the blue flashing but it keeps doing a test. I know I’m doing something wrong 🤦🏾‍♂️

  19. @dkosufan on January 16, 2025 at 8:12 pm

What’s your opinion on the sc07-w vs the sc07-wx?

  20. @johnkwolf on January 16, 2025 at 8:15 pm

Great video I heve not heard of this company thanks and there alot of people that still not into smart homes and this perfect they use have a phone

  21. @jstagzsr on January 16, 2025 at 8:16 pm

i live full time in a camper with 2 dogs. i work all day 6am to 330-4 pm. my dogs are home all day alone. they just chill and sleep and occasionally play but usually just sleep. I have an exterior camera and an interior camera that i check frequently, and since im on solar for power i have an app i can check for battery status and level, charge power from PV, etc.. and i get push notifications for power issues and movement on the cameras. But i am constantly paranoid about co2 and fire. with my dogs being home alone and with me sometimes not able to check the cameras for hours, i need something that will push notifications to my phone immediately if theres a problem so i can rush home and get my dogs out of the camper. idc about the camper itself or anything in it. I can buy new "stuff", but the lives of my borkers are priceless and irreplaceable. i really hope this x-sense stuff is as good as it looks.

  22. @lowfrequencyfilms on January 16, 2025 at 8:18 pm

takes 10 seconds to alert scares me, is there something that alerts faster? like instantly?

  23. @AlessandroMasiero75 on January 16, 2025 at 8:21 pm

Would you mount it on the wall about 2 meters above the ground to detect potential carbon monoxide emissions from a pellet stove? Thank you!

  24. @ottawacanadaottawacanada647 on January 16, 2025 at 8:23 pm

As an Apple fans , I haven’t seen your Vision Pro review yet.

  25. @ccndoc on January 16, 2025 at 8:24 pm

Hi! Thanks for this! Awesome video. It looks like this one is not hard-wired? Additionally, what happens if the electric goes out and the WIFI goes down? We live rural so it’s important to know if they will work – at least independently of the WIFI. Thanks much!

  26. @dlorbieski on January 16, 2025 at 8:26 pm

Thanks for sharing you thoughts and observations👍

  27. @jpileggi1 on January 16, 2025 at 8:32 pm

George, can you review the Owl Home Smoke detector? It’s HomeKit centric.
Shane Whatley reviewed it four months ago. He concluded it wasn’t ready for prime time.
I’m hoping the manufacturer updated the firmware/software expecting that it now performs as advertised. I know it’s pricey, but its specs tout a lot of features.

  28. @edicharana406 on January 16, 2025 at 8:36 pm

Nice! Compared to the Nest Protector 2, which one would you choose? Thanks!

  29. @johnkwolf on January 16, 2025 at 8:37 pm

First alert had one that connected to ring I used it

  30. @shirish2005 on January 16, 2025 at 8:38 pm

    Is this a sponsored video??

  31. @Pola309 on January 16, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Thank you for this excellent review @georgelangabeer. Do you know if we can turn off the alarm via the app and if there are false alarms with this detector (i.e. the alarm goes off for no reason)? Thank you again!

  32. @thomasjacques5286 on January 16, 2025 at 8:40 pm

I need a Smoke and Heat detector for my garage. Hopefully, they mate these two capabilities into one device.
