Try gaming with the ergonomic keyboard and vertical mouse
I feel like the word,’ergonomic’ is over used these days. Idk when furniture ever didn’t use the term since the 90s and 2000s?
"20 inches thats too big"
I’ve been using that trackball ergo mouse for years I love it and it’s not that hard to swipe around just have a small hand Austin 🙂😉
Funny that this video drops right about when my RSI worsens and I need to buy a split ortho for ergonomics
I use a Logitech MX vertical mouse at work and I love it. Before I switched to it I was feeling my wrist at the end of the day.
Why am i watching this? I dont even own a computer 😂
I have that Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. I don’t use it on my gaming pc. But I have an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse setup for my MacBook Pro. This is the keyboard I use for that.
I’ve been using a trackball for 30 years now, at least. I developed issues with my right thumb (later diagnosed as arthritis after an extended period of time with extreme pain) and also started having issues with my right shoulder due to me locking my arm and moving the mouse with my entire right arm. It was the Microsoft Trackball, and I tried to keep using them even as they broke (yeah, they’re plastic, and a little abuse really makes them stop working) with purchases via Ebay after MS stopped making them. I really prefer using my index and middle fingers on the ball, not my poor arthritic thumb, although even a Logitech trackball still works better for me than a mouse. Go figure. Today, I’ve discovered Elecom trackballs and use the HUGE model. It’s a bit expensive, and I’ve sworn off the wireless models, they seem to stop working for some reason. The wired one I bought is still doing just fine, although I had to replace it because a cat decided to drop it from my desk onto the hard floor, which broke the scroll wheel.
HEY GUYS THIS IS AUSTIN!
I use a Kensington for my daily use and a Nulea upright for finer details or gaming. I have a wrist pad and an ergo mouse pad. I’m researching ergo keyboards and standing desks for my next big upgrade probably in the Fall. Thanks for this upload!
Thats cool and all but can we talk about that haircut🤣
Kinsey, you need to get Austin on a finger trackball mouse, and put it between the two halves of the split keyboard.
Ergonomics still matter when your standing lol
Austin roast was good 😂
5:15 thats not true, we wouldn’t be caught dead with a membrane
Half Past Two shirt spotted. Ska fans represent!
A thing I would have liked to ear in this video is that ergonimics are different from one person to another. What going to be really good for one person won’t necessairely be the right option for the other… You have to try some stuff and figure your own ergonomics for yourself. There is the basic mention in the video that have to be respected of course, and the fact that they try different option for mice, keyboard and chair is awesome. But just the teeny tiny added detail of ones ergonomic is not the other ergonomic is missing. Hence my comment.
Keep up the good work and thanks for that great content.
(Also, personal rant here, ergo shoping is so hard to do online… Because you need to feel how that lombar support feel on your back. Is that wrist rest is good for me or I need a different type. How do I feel about vertical/track ball mice compared to regular mice… You need to feel it with your body in order to know if it’s good for you which you cannot do online…. )
I use a Amazon Basics foam back roller for a foot rest. I love it, but im against a wall so it can not roll away.
I loved the lift mouse so much I got the pink one for my gaming setup. It really alleviated the pain I was feeling in my wrist. It’s completely gone now.
I like how the chair cushion was installed backward for the first part of the video and then magically changes later in the video. You all missed a great chance to roast Austin for once again not reading instructions.
Austin needs a standing desk 😂
FYI, you can’t test any type of keyboard if you can’t actually type!
Problem with this is that it’s for people of a certain length and size. I’m 6,7 foot, and none of these ergonomic chairs are good for me. After an hour, I feel like my back is going to break. The part that pushes your back straight is pushing the lower part of my back forward, but I have no support at the top.
People that are short also have these issues. Just do what’s comfortable and you’ll be alright. If you feel discomfort after, you might want to adjust some things.
Should have gotten an ergonomic trackball
I love my keyboard and can type 140+ wpm, but my wrists hurt unless i tilt my whole keyboard…
Split keyboards are not something you can instantly use. They’ll definitely call you out for "improper" key presses" (like typing y or b with your left hand). Took me a couple days to get used to my Kinesis Advantage, but once I did, it quickly became the most comfortable typing experience I’ve ever had.
The freestyle looks way less ideal to me because it still has row stagger (as opposed to a columnar layout) and it’s flat (as opposed to the concave key well of the advantage). I think a columnar split is needed at minimum, but even then, my Moonlander is less comfortable to use than my Advantage because it’s still flat.
Why is the trackpad on you laptop so gross?
In my case Ergo setup requires accommodation. I am missing a thumb on my right hand and the thumb on my left is set in a fixed position of maximum use. I also have cervical stenosis which leaves my head slightly tilted to the left side. So, I am left-handed and titled to the left slightly about 115 degrees. Things like trackball mice need to be left-handed and monitors need to be off-center and at eye level. My footrests are completely out since my hips are turned to accommodate the lack of left-to-right motion from the cervical stenosis (I have 50% of the normal range of motion of someone turning their head for example). Finally, I have an eye dominance issue where 80 – 90% of what I see reaches my brain through my right eye. I also wear hearing aids that are individually tuned, and my sound settings are configured to the hearing aids as well. I’ve had to work with a specialist Orthopedic ergonomic consultant who can take these issues into account and figure out how best to adapt ergonomic equipment to my specific issues. When I start work at a new job I often ask for funding to hire my Ergonomic specialist to set up my workspace at the new job. There are programs that the business can apply for funding to fit persons with disabilities and in need of accommodation.
I do deserve a nap every once in a while lol. Thanks Austin!👍😉
now a Temu/Wish ergonomics setup
Bumps of eagles beaks
If you really really look closely, “Ergonomics” is really just marketing.
Kinsey is so honest about roasting Austin 😂
Austin literally just built my uncles setup 😭
If our body shape wasn’t so broken we wouldn’t need all this 💩. Evolution owes us a refund!
i have a hard wood foot rest that I can just I would recommend that over whatever that pillow was
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
My wrist always hurts from the small movements with mouse from having some for of cubital or carpal tunnel so I got a track ball mouse for schoolwork and I really enjoy it and have zero wrist pain now. It is hard on some precise clicks when closing windows or grabbing files but can be mitigated with experience. Will say it is way to jittery to play any shooters competitively but works really well on RTS and 3rd person games
That trackball hate was completely unwarranted 😭 Glad you finally came around to accepting that it was decent. been using the whole line of logitech thumb-ball trackball mice for 20 years. I don’t think I could go back to using a regular mouse for any length of time anymore lol.
I bought one of those $45 Amazon "chairs"… was never able to get the back on bc of the bolts they sent, when I requested a return the seller accepted… then they promptly erased every mention of their company off of the Internet! I can’t find their name anywhere.
everybody is built differently. there is no exact list of ergonomic guide that works for everyone. you just have to know what fatigue’s you. ergonomicy or whatever you call it it hogwash.
Funny thing about split-keyboards – it’s been proven by occupational therapists that theeeeeey… Don’t really do wonders for you, at all.
I use a Foxboro Trackball mouse at work. The trackball is right in the middle, and right and left click are at each side respectively. I use my index and middle fingers for the trackball, thumb for left click and the ring finger for right click. Switching from this to a normal mouse is seamless, except when I use the Razer Naga Pro. The Naga has a sort of resting shape for the ring finger and when I switch from the Foxboro mouse to the Naga I always tend to right-click the resting shape instead of the actual right-click button. I only use the Naga when my G502 is charging, but i happens every time.
Are we ever gunna see the camera girl always hear her never see her
Every time I watch this guy I just want to go watch the red green show afterwards
I am a hardcore gamer, fps games, etc etc. And I use the mx vertical mouse. Took some time getting used to, but my old Logitech G502 just feels odd now!
I HAVE BEEN USING THE LUNBAR FOR YEARS. 11:28 you are using it backwards 😂😂
Been using the thumb trackball mouse for years and absolutely love it. Don’t really have to turn settings up on it, you just kind of get used to giving the ball a little spin when you need to go further distances on the screen. But when it comes to gaming with the mouse, I absolutely love it.
sorry, its driving me crazy, but you guys are using ergo keyboards wrong.
You are supposed to angle the top of the split keyboards together and the bottoms away from each other, not angle the tops away from each other and the bottoms together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
