had the astro a50x and after 3 weeks it stopped charging, in dockstation over night 20% and on wire 40% going to send them back tomorrow. Kinda sad because i really enjoyed them but i dont think i want a new one.
damn i wish the kraken had a better mic
Sennheiser
i will never buy astros ever again. They sent a firmware update out to my a50’s and it completely bricked my headset + base. It happened to plenty of other people as well. just look up "astros firmware update bricks headset." I’d recommend against anyone buying from them. Bought some nova pro wireless and haven’t looked back.
I’m a big music and sound lover, and I’ll never forget the first time I put on my friends Astro A50s. After 10+ years of gaming headsets, I had never experienced gaming audio like it. Once I got out of school my first purchase was a newly launched PS4 and I had to spend the money to get that headset. I’ve now been gaming on 3 different generations of gaming PCs for the last 11 years with that original pair of Astro A50s.
I bought the Audeze Mobius had them a year and a half and due to a defect in design the ear cup snapped. Tried to reach out to the company and they wanted me to pay for another one of their products at a slight discount. For me to pay for MORE for a different one of their products. I originally paid $400 for that headset and it lasted a year and a half. Then the company didn’t want to make it right. I’ll never buy another product from them again.
What is the best headset for audio tracking like cod warzone ?
Steelseries makes headsets for decades and still put the worst mic you can find…
Yep the Audeze is the best still. Best sound overall, easy choice if you care about sound and sound is the most important thing after all
1st time watcher , love this thank you . I have the artic nova pro xbox edition BEST headsets i have ever owned (other then my Sony Xm5 1000’s but they are not for gaming). I agree with the mic for 500$ CAD , I would think you could get a better mic. ( I TOO bought the wicked cushions pads !!!) OH and the ANC is at best OK , not NEARLY as good as the Sony’s . I just love how they sound great (for me) and I can easy switch from my PC (for FPS) and my Xbox series X for every thing else AND they also work with my Quest 3.
Yeah I plug in some KZ zs10 pro IEMs into an elgato wave 3 mic for my fps needs (Overwatch: a game where sound queues are VERY important) and honestly, both my input and output audio have never been better. I love this setup. I’d recommend any fps players that use headsets to give IEMs a shot! They are cheap and very good!
for wired open back would you recommend the pc38x or the dt990 pro 80ohm and a separate mic? for the best open back for ps5 only
Maxwell is having bad problems with a mic pick up delay that Audeze seems to have zero interest in fixing. This makes them basically useless on PC for gaming, Teams meetings, discord etc. . .useless. From a quick google this problem has been going on for years!
Will never buy steel series (bully hunters)
Which headset has the best mic though???
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT GET THE MAXWELL HEADSET. Unless you don’t mind returning them all the time like every month or getting them sent for repairs. They have really bad quality control for there Maxwell headsets. For Example I got mine August 2024 and the Usb C Port for the headphones had some kind of issue where the cable gets lose and keeps messing with your audio or dont charge your headphones properly. Quite a lot of people has had the same issue. I also read some having issue with the bluetooth not working at all. buy at your own risk but u have been warned
Maxwell’s have a defect with internal glue leaking out of the housing causing the driver to stop working on that side. They only have a 1 year warranty (except in EU/UK). Driver repair/replacement costs $50, only comes with a 30 day warranty, and you have to pay to ship them. Any slight changes in humidity, or applying pressure, will also cause the foil over the planar drivers to crumple and you will literally hear what sounds like aluminum foil when you move your head. They are way too expansive for that shit.
You know it’s bad when they have an official FAQ saying that all the complaints and defects seen online are just the minority and essentially to not listen to them lol.
is it just me or is the arctis pro mic absolute dogshit
If comfort, price, and sound quality are the only three metrics, which set would best best? Black sharks run too hot for me to wear for long and clamping force is a bit much (good sound and price), nova pros are both more and less comfortable and feel less secure and sound odd in comparison to other high quality headsets, is there a happy sub 300 set that’s comfortable and sound good? Mic is irrelevant.
I like this guy however me personally i would definitely not recommendany turtle beach set. Ive had two one at Β£80 then one at just over Β£150 and the build quality sucked on both and they broke after about 6 months even though they were both in perfect condition. β€
still looking for a good wireless gaming headset and there is no good package… i mean for example: a 100-120$ headset like the HyperX Cloud III or Razer blackshark or a pricey one like the SteelSeries Artic Nova Pro for about 300$ or even the Audeze Maxwell for 400+ $ -> you DO NOT get a real good sound in relation to Beyerdynamic DT 880 or other good headphones and the microphone is awful or average at max (blackshark)… it’s just a pain the ass :/
I got RIG600s and have no problem wearing them out in public… and by public I just mean like ghetto public like Walmart, on public transit and/ or Costco etc… but yeah I’m not gonna wear them on a date or anything but they’re good bluetooth cans so I can answer calls quickly and they don’t weigh a ton. Honestly I just forget I have them on lol I’d be embarrassed if I was shopping for jewelry, but if I’m just running into Safeway I don’t care. These big heavy cans though, no I’m gonna set them down before leaving the house.
why when my ps5 pulse elite headset just faces disconnection issue, the youtube push me this video?
I can’t help but notice all of these are big-box consumer electronics grade products. I can find you a pair of headphones that sound and feel 10X better than all of these for about $120.
L.O.L. that Johnny Sins joke!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahaah
I’ve had nothing but issues with the SteelSeries GameDAC shit… I need a different headset with chatmix for PC.
I have Beyerdynamic mmx 300 2.gen and BlackShark V2 Pro 2020. I am thinking of buying Maxwell. I dont care about headset mics, they all usually suck compared to a real mic. And Im not going to use it for music outside or workouts so ANC is not that important. Is Maxwell the best buy or are there others to consider, like MMX 300/330 Pro ?
For the people who discovered the A50, Astro Gaming has been the leader in Gaming Headset for years before the acquisition from Logitech. Hopefully they still have good product, unfortunately not customizable anymore.
Do a best of each maybe a actual number score to differentiate βWordsβ with definite scores. Iβm still lost with how much better one is vs the other.
I love steel series but sonar is awful.
oooh could u please do a review on the artic buds please may be compare them to the Sony xm5 ear buds( i use ear buds for sleeping ) i was thinking about getting artic (xbox series x) and then switch to YT for sleeping . I’m really in to GOOD ANC . 2 reasons, i have 3 teenagers that drive me nuts with their music and 2 i leave a widow open 90% of the time so the traffic can get loud at times when i try and sleep.
I have used the arctis nova pro for 2 years and realy like that I can have my phone connected simultaniously on bluetooth as I have the computer sound wirelessly and my microphone monitor on aux also (I use a rode procaster mic).
Honestly, for the price, i think the Audeze Maxwell is the worst purchase i ever made in a headset. Started out great but gradually starts to fail. Sidetone has to be off or you get a random beeping sound, when there are too many game sounds it randomly goes robotic sounding, had to turn off the voice or there is a whine noise. They are also HEAVY and will give you a headache after a couple hrs. The only upside is the sound quality, it is top notch…Too bad the ruined it with all these bugs. I would avoid.
I used to work at a techstore, and I never understood the hype with Astro headset or HyperX..they seem so large and cheap and plastic. Which..truthfully is hypocritical as I am an avid Razer costumer XD
Like Johnny sins after a tough shift was a switch up I was not ready for πππ
should avoid arctis because sonar software is completely ass
The only thing I don’t like about the new Steelseries headset is that the base doesn’t have an optical in or out so I can’t easily route my TV to my base which is how I liked to use it with my PS5 when I’m not on PC.
Hi Brian, sorry to bother you that way, but you’ve made a video about
wireless headsets which I was very interested in, but I don’t have the
means to test as many of them as you, and here’s my question : for a
really big head, what headset would you recommend? For reference, I
currently have Audeze Maxwell, but it’s only comfortable for me when I
remove the headband, Audeze predicted this and added a cushion to the
metal headband, but it’s not really a good cushion. Hence, I’m looking
for something which will fit comfortably. I was looking at Astro A50s
from Logitech but I don’t know if it can get as large as Maxwell
without a leather headband. What would you recommend? Thank you for
your attention. π
Promise kept: "Very next time you see my face, we’re gonna be talking about flagship wireless headsets." -BadSeed Tech 2025
thanks for the helpful video! i’ve been in the market for a new headset recently, and atm i’m trying to decide between the arctis nova pro and the virtuoso max. the thing with the arctis is it’s a good bit better in most catagories compared to the virtuoso max, but i need a REALLY good headset mic because i can’t run a full studio mic on a boom in my small room. on top of that, i just love the overly robust cushioning on the virtuoso max sense i don’t gaf about comfort if it lasts forever.
I would be very careful with the maxwells, they’re know to have some condensation build up which will cause soda water popping noise at low volume. I’ve had 2 sets of these now and both have done it, i don’t even live in a humid climate. The 2nd pair also had a big bump on one of the planar drivers. For the price and issue you can have i would stay away from closed back planar headsets. Also the maxwells never did sound that good, very over rated and do have a decent amount of issues with them over the past 2 years.
Can you rate the RIG 800hx?
what about the best iem for specifically fps tittles?
does no one else have a issue with your ears touching the inside drivers or whatever for the maxwell? its mad uncomfortable and all I see everyone talk abt is the head strap and ear mitts but the biggest issue is my ears touch the inside which has 0 padding… am I the only one with this issue?
beard trim is crazy
i just got me the alienware and i love them
I was wondering if you could do a video on what headsets work with a scuf valor pro controller? I just bought one to replace my instinct pro (it has been cursed by stick drift) but my hyperx cloud alpha wired headset now has terrible audio when used with the valor pro. Some fixes I’ve seen have been to switch to a wireless headset. I also game on a Xbox series x.
Your list is way for kids than matured man with beards, if i did not saw shennhiser headset in this list or top list that mean its wrong list… I think following flag ship brand are not always the way to go
Who’s Johnny Sins? What headphones does he listen to?
ottimo con la traduzione automatica, grazie mille
