The Best PC Controllers – GameSir G7 Pro vs 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless

The GameSir G7 Pro and the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless go head to head in PC gaming! GameSir G7 Pro: https://amzn.to/3JC7Or3 8BitDo Ultimate 2: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_onEMZQB (more links & coupons below)

I love getting able to test new fun controllers and both of these have quickly challenged my Xbox controllers for space on my PC gaming desk. While both are great, some of the differences may lead you one way or the other when you’re deciding what will be your go-to for PC (or Android) gaming!

**CORRECTIONS!**
I mistakingly said you could not remap the L4/5 & R4/5 buttons from the 8BitDo controller, but you can by holding the button to map, the target mapped button and the square button in the center of the controller.

After this video was posted, 8BitDo pushed out a firmware update that allows the Ultimate 2 Wireless to work with the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. I havent tested the functionality (both with dongle or bluetooth), but it seems compatibility is working to some degree.

Also, I was shown some cool additional features of the GameSir where you can toggle a “Layer Shift” dual mode for every button, so you can map completely different buttons depending which mode you’re in and swap on the fly. Pretty cool but makes my head spin thinking about it.

I know it’s not the controller in this vid, but why does the Gamesir Cyclone 2 have such bad stick latency compared to these 2 controllers? The Cyclone 2 averages around 24ms meanwhile the Ultimate 2, which is the same price if not cheaper, is sub 10ms. Both on their 2.4ghz dongle. And it gets worse with a firmware update on the Gameisr dongle.

What’s your go-to PC gaming controller?? GameSir G7 Pro: https://amzn.to/3JC7Or3 8BitDo Ultimate 2: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_onEMZQB (more links & coupons in the video description) ALSO please note the description for some corrections (including my mistake about programming the 8BitDo back and shoulder buttons from the controller itself!

Did you test zd ultimate legend controller. It’s a must mention

  4. @VelcroSnake93 on September 9, 2025 at 11:32 pm

I really like the GameSir G7, but absolutely hate the silver plastic look of the D-Pad options. To me it makes the controller look cheaper. Also not sure I could convince myself to just get it to replace one of the color customized 1st party XBox controllers i have, even though some of the features would be nice.

  5. @carlopadon on September 9, 2025 at 11:36 pm

One thing I that I don’t like with G7 Pro is that huge logo on the charging dock. It’s a minor nitpick but they need to redesign that logo, it doesn’t look like a "G" or a gaming logo.

i still have a xbox 360 controller for pc

  7. @ryanwilcox675 on September 9, 2025 at 11:37 pm

HUGE help- I’m currently having some connection issues with my Xbox controller and am looking into 3rd parties. This comparison video is exactly what I was looking for!

  10. @yamada-san7306 on September 9, 2025 at 11:47 pm

I prefer the 8bitdo because they have a switch compatibility

  11. @miguelorozco4445 on September 9, 2025 at 11:49 pm

I have the 8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode Gaming Controller for Xbox so idk about the ultimate 2. is it better or worse ?

  12. @loybie06 on September 9, 2025 at 11:49 pm

does 8bitdo ultimate 2 , can be use on PC thru XBOX PASS?

  13. @ryanwilcox675 on September 9, 2025 at 11:50 pm

    So no battle beaver ……

  14. @NeanderMeander on September 9, 2025 at 11:54 pm

These look like they are both great! I hadn’t even heard of the Game Sir brand. It seems solid. I love the Xbox Series controllers too! I’m glad Nintendo is using the same layout button and stick layout for their controllers. Great video as always

  15. @KLUSKATCH on September 9, 2025 at 11:56 pm

did xbox fix the abysmal design flaw with the face buttons’ contact plates yet? because that controller is straight UNUSABLE

  16. @KarimJovian on September 9, 2025 at 11:56 pm

You can map the buttons directly from the 8Bitdo by using the square button. I’m surprised you also didn’t mention that the 8BitDo is supported by Valve on Steam. So it shows up as a fully compatible controller with community layouts and everything is mappable on steam. I wish Gamesir G7 Pro had that, doesn’t make it official for me yet. Hoping Gamesir reaches out to Valve and makes drivers for that so it can be my main PC controller

  17. @kisame_0093 on September 9, 2025 at 11:58 pm

G7 PRO = EXPENSIVE GAMEPAD : NOT COOL & it’s common cuz is expensive price

8bitdo Ultimate 2 = Amazing Crazy Value for the price

  18. @DantalionSam on September 10, 2025 at 12:02 am

Btw you can also program 8bitdo button directly from the controller.

  19. @CarloGoiff666 on September 10, 2025 at 12:02 am

    Looks nice. Does it drift?

  20. @spicytaco1089 on September 10, 2025 at 12:04 am

the only thing i dont like about the g7 pro is that the audio through the jack is super delayed over the 2.4 ghz. they need to fix that asap

  21. @Ghost-pb4ts on September 10, 2025 at 12:05 am

Do you think there are people who watch this kind of video and still think, ‘Nah, I want to buy the F310 Logitech for the fifth time’?

  22. @toastrdog on September 10, 2025 at 12:05 am

Great video! I haven’t used a Series controller but the Xbox One controllers are trash 😅

  23. @Two49 on September 10, 2025 at 12:08 am

I can’t stand textured rubber on some of these controllers – always feels tacky and gross on my palms. Give me textured plastic or give me death!

Edit: Got a 8bitdo Pro 3 on order so I can’t wait for that to show up.

  24. @a.j.butierez7649 on September 10, 2025 at 12:08 am

My wish is that one day they (maybe 8BitDo, but whoever picks up the idea) make a wireless controller that is as small as 8BitDo’s mini wired controller. I love mine to pieces

  25. @Legend8575 on September 10, 2025 at 12:09 am

Hi thanks pls compare gamesir g7 pro wuchang edition and 8bitdo 3 ultimate wirless xbox rate edition

  26. @gaiahunter3863 on September 10, 2025 at 12:12 am

You can map L4/R4 and back buttons on the 8bitdo by pressing the square button. The star button alongside the dpad can control some of the RGB options.

  27. @gghosti-b7f on September 10, 2025 at 12:12 am

whats a good controller for skate 4 on PC, my ps4 controller wont detect even when its plugged in my pc with a usb cable the game just wont detect it. I’ve tried so many methods to get around this issue but I might just have to get a controller thats meant for PC only. I know theres people using ps4, ps5 but theres just too many issues with those I just want to use a pc controller so that my pc just automatically knows its a PC only controller

  28. @gbr4732 on September 10, 2025 at 12:16 am

Dude I would love the G7 pro for the switch 2, if I ever get the switch I would 100% buy that controller for it since the pro controller 2 doesn’t feel as next gen as the G7 pro

  29. @cretinousmartyr3522 on September 10, 2025 at 12:17 am

I picked up both the 8bitdo pro 3 and ultimate 2 bluetooth version for switch. Also picked up CRKD les paul guitar controller pro version and a CRKD neo s controller. I also use the official nintendo pro 2 for official nintendo games and some others for the better gyro and rumble but for fps and games that need turbo ans macros I use the 8bitdos or the neo s. Neo s is great for small hands like children without compromising quality of controller like all joycons.

Oh wow didn’t notice you posted this, had to slow the scrolling of my sub feed to actually see, "oh Ty popped a new video" Anyway, I have a lot of Xbox controllers laying around so I just use one of those!
