Hey all, although the site mentions not for vertical blinds but I am using this same one for my 2 windows which have vertical blinds. They works just fine. Only and very little issue is that the vertical blind next to the rod gets press a bit but it does closes and you will never notice it anyways.

If you’re in the same ŕoom, just opened the Damm blinds dude. 😂 😂

I have 16 windows in my house so for the low, low cost of only $1,100 I can install these devices instead of just walking over and opening the blinds manually. Sorry, I’m not that lazy and I don’t have $1,100 to waste. Thumbs down for me.

    Are you Filipino?

  5. @wmf1595 on July 31, 2025 at 8:30 pm

I just followed the link in the video description and it took me to a kick starter page. I assumed from the video that this is already a product – not a concept

  6. @selw0nk on July 31, 2025 at 8:32 pm

I can open the blinds faster than Alex lol

  7. @sniperking305 on July 31, 2025 at 8:33 pm

what if mine is twist but vertical

  8. @jamesbruce5583 on July 31, 2025 at 8:36 pm

    Where can I buy one

  9. @abc123fhdi on July 31, 2025 at 8:37 pm

Looks like it doesn’t open the blinds by sliding them up, just the tilt open feature. Also, it’s kinda slow. No homekit support, maybe apple wants the product to be better first. Will it work with Matter or does Matter need to certify meaning there might not be much support for awhile?

  10. @mbn0505 on July 31, 2025 at 8:38 pm

Can someone please help clarify if this device can actually raise and lower the blinds? Do you need a separate SwitchBot device for the cord that raises and lowers them or a different product all together?

  11. @artieartya on July 31, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Can they sound dampen that motor a little?! Sounds so unattractive lmao.

  12. @nathanmendez3878 on July 31, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Do you think this would work for outdoor shades that have wants to bring up and down?

  13. @samadams4736 on July 31, 2025 at 8:42 pm

Cool. Now if you have this installed on all your blinds, can you tell Alexa to open or close all the blinds?

  14. @dawni843 on July 31, 2025 at 8:43 pm

For anyone who thinks these are a gimmick, like I did, you’ll change your mind once you try them. You really don’t even need to connect them to your smart home, just the schedule ability and remote operation makes them a great product. During fall months, I often leave the house during daylight hours but get home when it’s dark out, which means you can see straight into my house. Now I can leave them open during the day (for various reasons) and not have to come home to close them. Some of my blinds are behind furniture so this makes them easy to open via remote, or again, put them on a schedule. These would also be great for people with mobility issues. Right now you can skip the hub and get the opener for just $55, remote for $15. Trust me, I’ve wasted more money on much sillier smart home products.

I wish there was something like this to automate sliding windows for a house

  18. @frankm2385 on July 31, 2025 at 8:46 pm

Great for those windows that are high and unreachable without a ladder.

I can’t imagine being awakened by that Noise every morning!😵‍💫

  20. @j.a.1265 on July 31, 2025 at 8:52 pm

Thanks, I thought my Sunsa wands were ugly. Now I am much happier with them.

  21. @SamSlam on July 31, 2025 at 8:52 pm

Will they be selling on Amazon soon?

  22. @leonnewhall7088 on July 31, 2025 at 8:54 pm

$50 for one or $70 when they come out too expensive I’ll get up and close it myself

  23. @ryzelrb on July 31, 2025 at 8:55 pm

Is there a version for ‘ball and chain’ vertical blinds?

  24. @Sophieandgiannac on July 31, 2025 at 8:56 pm

This is great for when I’m out of town. I like my fish to have natural light when I’m away so this is perfect.

Excellent breakdown and instruction. Thanks for your work and for making a fake door just to help us. ✌🏾👍🏾

  28. @Pdpawlak on July 31, 2025 at 9:01 pm

Is there a version that doesn’t sound like a wood chipper?

  29. @TheMissingDislikeButton on July 31, 2025 at 9:03 pm

does it need to connect to a hub? or it works standalone?

  30. @jeikobu_jeikobu on July 31, 2025 at 9:03 pm

Can anyone tell me if the motor can be attached on the right side of the rod? In all of the photos I see, the motor is attached on the left side of the rod — which wouldn’t work on my blinds.

  31. @khao1412 on July 31, 2025 at 9:03 pm

    Switchbot? Hell yeah!

  32. @wmf1595 on July 31, 2025 at 9:06 pm

I haven’t been able to figure out how to link it to Alexa. I received the blinds and a hub mini today, and both are installed. What I can tell the hub mini is for memorizing an existing IR remote. The switchbot videos and FAQ aren’t helpful for learning how to connect to Alexa.

  33. @adamzilberbaum5517 on July 31, 2025 at 9:07 pm

You should check out the Sunsa Wand, it is less bulky and works great 🙂

  34. @eking7690 on July 31, 2025 at 9:07 pm

I like the concept, and i dont mind the speed at which it opens/closes. Its hard to tell how loud the device is over a youtube video, but the sound alone seems like it’d be pretty annoying when you take into account the length of time it takes to open/close the blinds.

Waaay too noisy. NO THANK YOU. That noise makes me cringe! Why would anyone want that noise it makes??!! Yuck.

Mmmm no kmmmmmmmm lmk í kk ko

  38. @LifeHackster on July 31, 2025 at 9:14 pm

I noticed that a lot of you have been complaining about the noise of the device. SwitchBot has said that they are tweaking on the final batch on these and the motor noise will not be as loud. In reality though, with everything else in your house like your fridge running, TV and kids, you will barely notice any sound plus it will do its thing in less than 30 seconds.

  39. @iblackfeathers on July 31, 2025 at 9:14 pm

the main advantage of this over the soma connect is the installation process and no need to remove or replace the rod with this unit. one drawback i see is that plastic gear that turns the rod and a weaker motor.
the soma connect advantages are no hub is required, bigger motor, and can open and close blinds greater than 3m… but you have to sacrifice your blinds rod – you can’t use it at the same time as having the rod.
hopefully some day there will be a better product that lets you use the rod manually and a more powerful motor.

  41. @stevev1008 on July 31, 2025 at 9:17 pm

I work with Window treatment, on average a motorized shade will cost $700 per window, these affordable tilters a good for high windows you can’t reach without a ladder.

  42. @BLAKEISHart on July 31, 2025 at 9:17 pm

How quiet is silent mode? That’s an awful sound

  43. @ashtoncap2161 on July 31, 2025 at 9:19 pm

Any other device that is conpatible with ball chain blinds?
