I’ve been in this hobby for over 20 years and believe me when I say, I’ve had many DAPs. One day you will wake up and realize it’s not worth it. DAC/Amps are much better and cost effective.

  2. @TheDuckPox on April 7, 2025 at 9:12 pm

For the wifi problem, you can probably sideload a web browser or spoof another device’s mac address to your dap’s then log into the wifi.

  3. @DailyDevotionalPrayerLife on April 7, 2025 at 9:12 pm

That’s a beautiful DAP! I got one for under 50$, the Mechen M30. I haven’t gotten to try it out yet, I ordered myself some IEMs too, I got the Truthear Zero:Red’s! We’ll see if I enjoy it I might invest more money into this hobby. 😍

Here’s a reason: iPhones don’t have LDAC or Aptx HD. Get DAP, connect to hotspot from iPhone. Stream LDAC to headphones. No cables tangling up your life.

    This was a good video

  6. @saumenroy8710 on April 7, 2025 at 9:15 pm

I dont want to pressure my phone. Thats why a dap is necessary. But I do think modern DAPs should be smaller so that we carry it in my pocket.happy with my M0 pro.

  7. @dragnar4743 on April 7, 2025 at 9:18 pm

At 1st, I thought u would just promote the product. But u really have been transparent about DAP in this video 👍👍
I was also thinking that nowadays, mobiles are already so good & on top of that, u have some pretty good USB dac/amp which are way cheaper than a DAP. Then y do u really need a DAP??
I think it would be preference, It reminds me of the time when internet & streaming services weren’t prominent. We used to use Walkman / iPod for listening our songs.

  8. @compaadres88 on April 7, 2025 at 9:21 pm

I think I would like to revive my iPod. No dap no phone.
    Get me off my phone.

I’m sure I’m the 30th person to mention the lgv60. But try it!

i did not expect to see potsdam when I clicked on this video, small world I guess.

Daps are a waste. The phone does it all

  12. @PercyPanleo on April 7, 2025 at 9:25 pm

7:15 closest thing we got in the US were LG phones

There isn’t a phone out there android or iPhone that can compete with the sound quakity I get from my DAP and a set of IEM

  15. @Spintechfilms on April 7, 2025 at 9:28 pm

I use my Phone paired with a FiiO BTR5 DAC and that has served me well so far, i know im limited on space with my internal storage but in reality do i really need thousand upon thousands of songs on my phone, i think its a healthy balance of moving my music i dont listen too out and migrating new music in, my whole entire music library doesnt have to be at my fingertips and i think its very relieving to only be limited to the music ive chosen as apposed to thinking "omg what if i dont have my entire music library with me"

  16. @chevymusclecar1970 on April 7, 2025 at 9:28 pm

I’d like to know how these daps compare to iPod classics? I have a few iPods and they sound nice 🤷‍♂️

  17. @ericperry72 on April 7, 2025 at 9:28 pm

The main reason why im still using my LG V60 is because its the only phone ever made for Audiophiles with its quad DAC. I was hoping Sony or Samsung would pick this feature for their phones.

  18. @anthonysimpson6738 on April 7, 2025 at 9:28 pm

I think it is worth it on music quality alone, ownership but…The Sony Walkman are flawed. They android and bricked into the google ecosystem. Poor battery life. Even though they Android they don’t work with Android auto, and they don’t work connected other wise. Bluetooth will work min a car but I want wired. The nW-a306 is a case in point. Although they can stream most streaming sites don’t allow buying songs from their stores well enough and storing them. You can’t use your local collection either. But I am going to persist as I am tired of streaming and not owning my music. I love the cassette screensaver.

Sony should create a android Walkman device-Google OS without the bloatware, auto Android and Apple CarPlay integration. But the ability to connect USB wired to your car stereo as a AuX source that has enough power.

  19. @DMS3TV on April 7, 2025 at 9:31 pm

EDITORS NOTE: I realized after filming there’s BOTH a way to use this as a USB DAC/AMP from a desktop computer & move tidal’s library to an SD Card. Maybe this little thing needs a follow up 🤔

  20. @Liberty-rn4wy on April 7, 2025 at 9:32 pm

I just bought a DAP. Got it yesterday. I like the size (about 1/3 of my smartphone). It powers up very fast. The only thing is downloading is a bit of a hassle. I have to go to the website of the podcast I want to listen to, as I can’t figure out how to download off Spotify or Amazon.

  21. @yesterdaysjam2405 on April 7, 2025 at 9:32 pm

I have a shanling m0 + 256gb micro sd card. Holds my music and I’m happy with it, saves my phones battery life especially when I’m traveling. I do miss some of the streaming options I use on the phone, and have been looking up android DAPs and second hand LG phones to use as a DAP.

  22. @stephengriffin2188 on April 7, 2025 at 9:33 pm

I have 6 daps. I don’t ACTUALLY NEED ANY OF THEM) nor does anyone else. No-one needs to listen to music on the go!. Sometimes it’s nice to listen to whatever is going on around us🙂 ( bit sad and deep😂). I don’t really know why I love mine so much. They all sound a bit different. They all look and feel different. They are just nice things in their own right. I do feel a bit guilty though for wasting money. But hey. I would have surely wasted it on something else🙄

  23. @matthewjames4268 on April 7, 2025 at 9:33 pm

While I used to port my macbook to my dacmagic to play through my loudspeakers. A DAP would provide the same effect in a smaller package.

  24. @mw3beastplaya on April 7, 2025 at 9:33 pm

What if I just want something to stream things on ? Anime, Movies, YouTube and Twitch ?

  25. @investmentsound902 on April 7, 2025 at 9:34 pm

The lg v60 weee known to have really good quad dac sound.. too bad they’ve closed down but at the same time a lot of their phones are still selling aftermarket

  26. @CallmeQeoe on April 7, 2025 at 9:38 pm

I love sleeping to my music and I just can’t do that if I’m sitting at my computer with my Dac/amp. Also I still have Deemix and just want to dump as much lossless music as I possibly can into a seperate device than on my phone or laptop.

  27. @CrueLoaf on April 7, 2025 at 9:39 pm

I realised I was listening to music all the time to block out the real world. I’ve dumped my players and I’m hearing life and it’s ambience! It’s 100% better than your favourite song! I’m being serious.

  28. @jeffscalfano3100 on April 7, 2025 at 9:40 pm

I don’t get this vibe at all in your regular videos but seeing you in the wild makes me think you are genetically predisposed to an indoor life…. so you don’t combust.

  29. @alvinakhair7009 on April 7, 2025 at 9:42 pm

Love your shirt , it distracted me whole time 😅

  30. @robinenbernhard on April 7, 2025 at 9:44 pm

love to have so much music with me when i work 12 hours shift on fortruck.

nest week M23 if i liek it or i go get iBasso DX260

  31. @gcruishank9663 on April 7, 2025 at 9:45 pm

I use a DAP mainly to have a massive library of FLAC files to play in my Volvo with my 19 speaker Bowers & Wilkins system. I just picked up a Fiio M23 because I ran out of room on a smaller DAP I have. It will be great to have when you can’t stream somewhere as well.

  32. @vincentalonzo9252 on April 7, 2025 at 9:45 pm

I feel like DAPS are basically for people who are like really hard-core into music. Or for people who may have a phone that doesn’t necessarily have a good battery life so you want to preserve the battery life while you’re out if you’re out for the day and have something else to listen to your music on.There’s also what you mentioned in the video where you can listen to music without distraction or in iPhone’s case without the dinging noise of a notification interrupting your music. Now, obviously I know what the iPhone. You can put it on silence but then you may miss something if you need it.

  33. @CoasterMan13Official on April 7, 2025 at 9:49 pm

I was looking at more budget options like the Pecsu players or the Mechen H11. I was looking at the Pecsu players in particular. What do you think of these players? Do you think they provide more bang for their buck than others?

  34. @RobertZane-u1l on April 7, 2025 at 9:49 pm

    Collier Shoal

  35. @jamescarlson486 on April 7, 2025 at 9:49 pm

Could you comment if you think Apple might do a high end DAC? Still using the last (discontinued) IPod touch.

  36. @LyuboA on April 7, 2025 at 9:49 pm

unfortunately most phones now a days and All high end ones have removed very useful feature expendable storage SD Cards so now you can’t use your phone to play music from files cause of limited storage and you are practically Forced to buy a DAP just another way companies are Forcing ppl to spend more and more Money first was the 3.5mm jack so now you have to get a dongle or BT dac now is limited storage so you have to get a DAP and the phones that still have SD Cards are Complete crap

  37. @yevheniibatiievskyi on April 7, 2025 at 9:51 pm

My phone is my on-the-go DAP

  38. @Eyed18 on April 7, 2025 at 9:51 pm

The dap’s not worth it now and I think in the future and this price 🤔 What you have?A digital sound to hear ,so a lier for you…😂

  39. @malthus101 on April 7, 2025 at 9:51 pm

No; the main reason to get a DAP, is to be able to leave your phone at home all day – you don’t need it. We lived without phones for millions of years. You’ll survive! It’s a voluntary government tracking device, leave it home as often as you can. Take the DAP, and live free with better sounding music.

  40. @avalokiteshvaravalon on April 7, 2025 at 9:55 pm

    Adrianne Lenker!!! Yay

  41. @Joris-KarlHuysmans on April 7, 2025 at 9:57 pm

First of all, these products were never meant for your “average user”. They’re niche products for a niche audience. Secondly, stuff like this does not come down to practicality; if you really want a “practical” setup, simply get an iPhone, a pair of AirPods Pro and an Apple Music subscription: this is as practical as it gets. So when you say that a DAP is not so practical anymore, I’m not sure who your intended audience is.

I like to download my music, fetch my album covers, edit metadata, load it into an SD card, get my DAP, and listen to my music using a dedicated device, not a smartphone. Is it “practical”? Well, I don’t really care to be honest, because hobbies are not always meant to be “practical”, they’re meant to be enjoyed, and what better way to enjoy your music than to curate it yourself, play it using a dedicated device, and actually own it ? No matter what people say, you don’t own sh*t with streaming services, regardless if you have a premium, super premium, hyper premium, or whatever bullshit premium subscription you can think of.

So yeah, I’ll take a DAP with my local music over any streaming service using a smartphone any day.

  42. @robertaudal88 on April 7, 2025 at 9:58 pm

Since DAP is very expensive, a good phone with Bluetooth DAC with battery may be alternative solution.

  43. @esoteric_nebula on April 7, 2025 at 9:58 pm

this video was an accidental critique of streaming services (and I’m here for it!)

  44. @chungang7037 on April 7, 2025 at 9:59 pm

7:26 I live in Asia but I have never heard of a all in one device with 4.4, what devices were you talking about??

Wild seeing my hometown in a youtube video

  46. @RaC09 on April 7, 2025 at 10:02 pm

Hello, im new to DAP….and would like to get a DAP .. not cheap not too expensive, but won’t like to compromise on sound aspects.
Can you please advise which one/ name and model to get in May 2023 memorial day! A bit of future proofing would be nice!

  47. @kaiying74 on April 7, 2025 at 10:05 pm

I’m looking at DAPs because I’m going a trip and I want to keep my phone battery as free as possible for camera, messaging & internet. Also for walks & exercise when I want to go no-phone.

  48. @infasis on April 7, 2025 at 10:06 pm

It wasn’t to the quality of really high end audio players, but LG actually included a good DAC that you could toggle on and off in their flagship line. The LG v20 was actually the last flagship with a removable battery too. (I need to finally upgrade, but its the phone I’ve been using all these years, and multiple batteries later.) I really wish they didn’t leave the market.

  49. @qazifaisal5 on April 7, 2025 at 10:07 pm

if you love music ypu should use a dap player for aure i use an FIIO M11 i lovr it.

  50. @cheeseborgerdeluxe on April 7, 2025 at 10:08 pm

I’m just getting into dap. I work in construction and I’m not always in reach of a charging source for my phone. Dap really helped me out by the time I was out of work my phone was dead everytime
