Lon: Great to see Dick DeBartolo’s (The Giz Wiz) name as a supporter . Stay safe

  3. @rocknflip66 on September 17, 2025 at 12:06 am

nvidia TV and firestick all the way

  4. @dnwheeler on September 17, 2025 at 12:07 am

It’s unfortunate that Roku devices don’t support VC-1 video. Many Blu-Ray titles are in the VC-1 format and my Plex server has to transcode them to be viewed on Roku devices. This transcoding requires a lot of CPU power on my Plex server and reduces the picture quality.

  5. @CrimsonTideGuy on September 17, 2025 at 12:09 am

Friends don’t let friends buy roku
Roku isn’t centered on content, It’s centered on pushing ads, Even through your HDMI

  6. @michaelb4512 on September 17, 2025 at 12:11 am

I have a samsung smart tv and i am able to browse the internet with it can i browse the internet using the roku streaming sticks on my samsung tv?Thankyou!

  7. @alansmithee.01 on September 17, 2025 at 12:13 am

Lack of compatibility with image based subtitles within Plex has caused me to lean towards Onn with Google TV

  8. @MyTechGuyTim on September 17, 2025 at 12:13 am

Naming seems backwards, middle one should be 4k the higher cost should be 4k plus

  9. @IvyKilla on September 17, 2025 at 12:15 am

I’m from Canada and i tested some features for roku and some of them like the Daily Trivia are only avalaible in the USA (for now). Sadly Canada doesn’t have those features yet.

  10. @allansutcliffe648 on September 17, 2025 at 12:19 am

    H96 Max stick far better.

  11. @s4d429 on September 17, 2025 at 12:20 am

firestick 4k still works perfectly fine but if roku can do same but even better it’s time to switch

  12. @davecool42 on September 17, 2025 at 12:20 am

Roku is the cause of every ‘the tv’s being weird’ parental visit.

  13. @TheJonathanhulu129 on September 17, 2025 at 12:21 am

If you’re wondering, yes. The remote DOES have a IR blaster for IR only TV’s. I also thought it didn’t have IR. It’s just, Roku hides the IR blaster quite well on their remote.

  14. @northerndreamer on September 17, 2025 at 12:22 am

I figured this was why they are 50% off at Amazon for the 2022 versions 🙂

  15. @gabakusa on September 17, 2025 at 12:22 am

    ROKU is trash
They won’t allow you to play movies in 2x like YouTube
    YouTube is still the king

  16. @FlagPole84 on September 17, 2025 at 12:23 am

Great review – I had no idea you could cast to a Roku.

  17. @pervertedalchemist9944 on September 17, 2025 at 12:26 am

One thing that’s good about it is it plugs into your television without the use of a power cord. The question is how will it fare without it?

  18. @jeffreykoerber6595 on September 17, 2025 at 12:28 am

If it just supports 802.11n, it’s not good for crowded situations like hotels, dorms, and apartment buildings. N tends to favor 2.4Ghz over 5Ghz which is prone to interferance and can cut out when a microwave is used (which uses 2.4Ghz at very high power to cook your food).

  19. @ShallIStreamIt on September 17, 2025 at 12:28 am

Been interesting to see the evolution of Roku into a content brand. I’ll be curious to see how Frndly TV integrates once that merger is complete.

  20. @nexusvideo on September 17, 2025 at 12:29 am

I take it that it can’t use the chromecast type feature with Twitch? Since they ban Roku devices from their service.

  21. @dakkon74 on September 17, 2025 at 12:31 am

Since this is powered by the usb port, does that mean it has to reboot every time you turn on your TV?

  22. @DeVious-Azz on September 17, 2025 at 12:31 am

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K’s power cord is more than just the antenna, it also is needed to connect the Remote. Most people don’t understand that.

  23. @Richardclarkson7819 on September 17, 2025 at 12:31 am

I already have the 4k roku. I don’t think the new plus model is any different than what i already have. Can’t find any comparisons of the two

  24. @todd_b_az on September 17, 2025 at 12:32 am

performance wise, does the new 2025 streaming stick plus launch apps faster than the previous 4k streaming stick? didn’t see that in the comparison

  25. @speckdigital1285 on September 17, 2025 at 12:32 am

I plugged my Roku stick into HDMI and USB power on the back of my TV 11 years ago.
I’m fine with visual ads, assuming they are kid safe, but auto play ads are too much.
If they’re just getting worse, them I’m not buying another Roku, I’m just getting an Apple TV.

  26. @cuetTimmonz on September 17, 2025 at 12:34 am

roku is crap. its the old tubi now. lol ill stick to my 60 plus, free apps, i can sideload and get live tv,.ppv all countries if i want it.. movies, 24/7 etc. 10000 channels.. roku is for people who don’t know anything about electronics.. l’ll even torrent.there stuff..free websites out there too.. i found 2, that has all channels..sports live tv…hbo fanduel, Aand E sportsnet, tsn…

  27. @michaelsabella7641 on September 17, 2025 at 12:34 am

Thanks for letting us know about the hdmi form

  28. @FE59FE59 on September 17, 2025 at 12:35 am

So ads is a thing we accept when purchasing a device? For me that a no.

  29. @annacurransmotherofmeghanc1841 on September 17, 2025 at 12:37 am

If it weren’t so sad I’d say it’s almost a form of entertainment now to tune in and see what any given company has done to diminish their once good products or recently now is what unnecessary thing was introduced or removed on purpose that almost seems like it was done with the sole intent of destroying their brand.

  30. @HaroldJackson on September 17, 2025 at 12:37 am

You did not show how to install and connect the Roku to your TV 😢.

  31. @donovancherryholme on September 17, 2025 at 12:39 am

Never ever a Roku… bottom line.. Android is the only way to go!

  32. @Crazypostman on September 17, 2025 at 12:40 am

Why in 2025 would anybody make something that’s not 4k.

  33. @jonjohnson2844 on September 17, 2025 at 12:40 am

If you have a 4K TV, even a basic one like mine, a Roku isn’t going to be an upgrade on the built-in smart features…it makes no sense.

  34. @Kronos21782 on September 17, 2025 at 12:42 am

For the most part I love Roku devices.

  35. @alliejr on September 17, 2025 at 12:44 am

I have previous gen 4K stick. I use it when I travel. It’s okay, but it can tend to overheat and then it just dies/ shuts down. I hope new one has a MUCH better processor that is not so over taxed. For home, it’s Apple TV. There is no comparison.

  36. @wbh2cool on September 17, 2025 at 12:46 am

Always a great video from you. One thing you can do to limit the ads is to turn on ad filtering, if your wireless internet provides it. My ubiquity gateway takes care of most of them.

  37. @shaunwhiteley3544 on September 17, 2025 at 12:47 am

Can you install Kodi and play content from USB drive? Cheers

Got the answer later in video, thanks. Not for me.

  38. @knightone57 on September 17, 2025 at 12:48 am

    How much storage and ram?

  39. @CommodoreFan64 on September 17, 2025 at 12:51 am

I have the 4K streaming stick, it still getting plenty of updates, and is still snappy enough for me, but for a few Apps not on Roku, I have the ONN Google TV 4K Pro which is really nice and smooth, and I also have a Linux based gaming PC attached as well, so I say don’t lock yourself into one ecosystem, as I learned years ago when Roku got in a fight with Google over YouTube TV.

  40. @nodak81 on September 17, 2025 at 12:51 am

Roku is still king. Google and Amazon both have an ugly cluttered UI experience. Although I recently discovered "app only mode" on my Google devices which comes close to a Roku-like experience.

  41. @yannisgk on September 17, 2025 at 12:52 am

i’ll get one for my projector surely!!!thanks Lon!!!

  42. @horizon42q on September 17, 2025 at 12:52 am

    Good one Lon!
I still have my Angry Birds Roku

  43. @MothmanLurking on September 17, 2025 at 12:52 am

  44. @Canadaman666 on September 17, 2025 at 12:53 am

    Roku tv same thing

  45. @jjtara on September 17, 2025 at 12:54 am

Hi does Roku work in Ireland?

  46. @ringo8410 on September 17, 2025 at 12:54 am

Ad blocker is non-negotiable for me these days. If I ended up getting one of these Roku sticks, I’d have to find a way to use uBlock Origin or some other blocker with it, as I do with YouTube.

  47. @kumarp3074 on September 17, 2025 at 12:56 am

I find Roku’s menus to be the least cluttered compared to all the other streaming devices with exception of Apple TV. I set one up for my mother as using apps on her Smart TV was somewhat complicated. The only thing I wish they included was Bluetooth for connecting headphones directly. I believe the Ultra version now includes that.

  48. @user-el4su7tl6f on September 17, 2025 at 12:58 am

    Looks like a vape 😂

  49. @Travmeister on September 17, 2025 at 12:59 am

Awesome. I am in the market for one this month. Perfect timing for a subscriber to your channel

  50. @Smittron on September 17, 2025 at 1:00 am

Thanks for the video. Pi hole helps with some of the Roku advertising clutter.
