What if your phone dies or breaks? Will it still send messages and alert 911?

Just got mine today. I like that it has no monthly fee and that it looks like an ordinary bracelet (if it looked like a typical panic button, I would avoid wearing it). Drawbacks are that it must be near my phone and that it is not waterproof.

I mean, phones already have this functions. Depending on brand you can press the power button 3 times fast and it will send your location, 30s voice recording, a photo from front and back cameras. To your registered emergency contacts. So why buy this?

Sounds like it’s linked to your phone but what if someone were to be kidnapped and they took their phone. Would the GPS tracking still work?
