I Tried The Lingo CGM: Exclusive First Look

I Tried The Lingo CGM: Exclusive First Look

I tested a brand new glucose monitor from Abbott. The Lingo biosensor has just launched in the US and UK. Is Lingo a good alternative to the FreeStyle Libre CGMs to monitor your blood sugar levels? Or is it even a better tool to monitor your glucose? Watch this video to find out.

Thank you for your informative video. Before I ran across your video, this morning I placed the Lingo for the first time, I have been using the Stelo for a couple of months. Readings of the Lingo initially was off but after a few hrs it stabilized and seems to be in par with Stelo although Lingo seems a bit more accurate..
Stelo is a smaller unit and Lingo, although it has a very nice looking app, its a bit more complicated and will take time to get familiar with it, particularly if you are a "newbie" . Stelo does informs you verbally (through my hearing aids!!) if you are spiking high or low, lingo has not so far because I have been in the normal range, will see in the next few days.
Low reading warnings is a must. In the US price about the same for both sensors (about 1 month worth-two units).
Stelo warm up is only 30 mins but you get readings every 15 mins. Lingo seems to do it every minute, warm up 1 hr.
Absolutely, your head to head review of both systems would be welcomed.

Good review. Thanks. I received a 2 week sample box for free at the SMHP in Boca Raton, FL recently, and I just activated it and applied it to my arm and downloaded the app. I can’t wait to chart my blood glucose for two weeks and see how my body reacts to different foods!

Stelo vs Lingo would be great

Started using my 1st CGM, lingo yesterday. Worked fine yesterday but stopped working today. They are sending me a replacement

  11. @jam_mstr_j on May 22, 2025 at 3:42 pm

At $50 bucks for 2 monitors it’s cheaper to use the freestyle through the insurance

  12. @lyfandeth on May 22, 2025 at 3:42 pm

Micro Science Goo Gone is a clear blue medical grade adhesive remover. I got mine on Amazon. Quickly removes all the adhesives with just a wipe. FWIW. Very handy!

Have you found a way to import the Lingo Data into Apple Health? Is Thera a way to export the data CSV file and import into apple health? This sth software’s weakest point. Why use the apple app if it can’t be useful in tracking the Maxtix with all the other health data? It kind of he reason I got it?

  14. @terryy6938 on May 22, 2025 at 3:43 pm

I have used a total of 6 Lingo sensors. And really only 2 of them came close to fingerstick comparisons with any consistency. (And I always did that comparison in relatively steady periods like before I ate or before exercise and accounting for about 10 minute differential of interstitial fluid vs blood measurements.) i would regularly see 20 point variance, and sometimes up to 40. That makes these sensors useless IMO. I also had 2 sensors completely fail, which Abbot quickly replaced. Nonetheless, I decided it was a waste of money and time.

  15. @yamani3882 on May 22, 2025 at 3:46 pm

Not accurate, sometimes it was under reporting and other times showing that blood glucose is high. I don’t recommend it.

  16. @bobe2933 on May 22, 2025 at 3:48 pm

    PLEASE RELEASE THE ANDROID VERSION!!!!!!

  17. @phillig on May 22, 2025 at 3:52 pm

I’ve used Stelo and Lingo and generally prefer Lingo for it’s better accuracy and great app. Your views in a head to head comparison would help a lot of people learn from a trusted source (you). Thank you for your great video reviews.

  18. @MrKenstar2 on May 22, 2025 at 3:52 pm

You talk way too much and you editing so fast is tiring

  19. @fasaja7489 on May 22, 2025 at 3:53 pm

Thank you, Tom, for the thorough review. I just started using the Lingo, less than a week ago. Not a diabetic but health conscious. I am super needle phobic and watching your video before putting my device on, helped me relax. It didn’t hurt at all 😂. From the SF, (CALIFORNIA) Bay Area 👋

  20. @newclearphysics1026 on May 22, 2025 at 3:56 pm

Thankyou sir, i just placed it on my left arm. this is to kill fat from my body.

hi I was wondering if you’ve heard of ottai cgm it’s fairly new I haven’t seen any reviews for that brand but it’s cheap so I’m wondering if it works well

  22. @jasonbengel on May 22, 2025 at 3:58 pm

Great review. Great points about how the Libre Freestyle app sucks and has shown no sign of improvement for years.

  23. @BeatDiabetesNaturally on May 22, 2025 at 3:59 pm

The information shared here about managing blood sugar through diet is super insightful! It really helps me stay on track. 💡 2:15 PM

My informant says the Libre3 app was coded by a high school freshman who was bored on the school bus. Completed in two days.

  26. @rickdibello3823 on May 22, 2025 at 4:05 pm

Comparison of Stelo and Lingo would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks for your work!

  27. @PSGSoccerMom on May 22, 2025 at 4:06 pm

I mainly want to use this to identify what foods are causing spikes and take long to bring my glucose down, do you think this will help?

  28. @richardgagne8701 on May 22, 2025 at 4:08 pm

I am diabetic and recently had a big spike 460 so I wanted a continuous meter. With that said looks like this does not show results that are over 200. I had been sick a few days so that might be it and have only had the sensor on mg arm for a few hours. I guess we will see

  29. @ziggycorfield5904 on May 22, 2025 at 4:09 pm

Is this available in Canada? I have to pay for mine Libre 2 as I am not l’m not on insulin so insurance won’t cover

  30. @caridesari on May 22, 2025 at 4:10 pm

    Sold!

  31. @JillCao on May 22, 2025 at 4:11 pm

Thank you for the detailed review ❤ please do a side by side comparison of Stelo vs lingo.

    do the comparisson man

  34. @kenvalenti5414 on May 22, 2025 at 4:14 pm

    Still stupid expensive.
I used Libre and it stopped working after two weeks.
Changed the date on my phone and it worked again.

  35. @marcuscoffey9535 on May 22, 2025 at 4:18 pm

Excellent video. Thank you! Just got mine today.

  36. @dogbsas on May 22, 2025 at 4:19 pm

I am so worry about it. I had the suspicion that I was diabetic but I don’t have medical plan because of the cost. This morning I did a medical exam to get the DOT card for drivers and they denied it to me because the reading of my glucose was 300!!! 🙁 Still poor I will need to pay a doctor next week and start a life of control, medicine and these kind of out of my budget things. 🙁

  37. @michaelcasino8517 on May 22, 2025 at 4:20 pm

I use stelo. Which is better?

  38. @ijohnny. on May 22, 2025 at 4:20 pm

The idiots who designed this thing must think the world revolves around the iPhone, and as far as the larger population of Android users, why bother?

  39. @manjujacob4959 on May 22, 2025 at 4:21 pm

I find the challenges annoying. Today when I applied the sensor there was a nail like thing sticking out of it and I had to peel off the sensor and then ofcourse you know you cannot reapply it ! Stelo was easier to apply and use, so I will go back to Stelo

  40. @TickDaddyTrades on May 22, 2025 at 4:23 pm

I hate this canadian BS healthcare system.. they dont have any cheaper options for canadians without health benefits. I can’t afford to pay $120 CAD every 14 days for the libra CGM, which is the cheapest option now. and god knows when this system will be allowed in canada. disgusting regulators we have here. they just dont give a damn. "free healthcare" my a$$. dont be fooled by canadian "free" healthcare.

  41. @cathykomarzynski3046 on May 22, 2025 at 4:23 pm

Hi, I love that you share your honest reviews on these cgm devices. I use the Libre 3, whenever it’s in stock. There is another cgm called Eversense. It goes under your skin. Are you familiar with this. Thanks for your videos, helpful.

  42. @MyVictoriaMarie on May 22, 2025 at 4:23 pm

Incredible review. Really covered everything, even the removal process, which most reviews don’t even cover, thank you. 🙏

  43. @aliciaheisey5194 on May 22, 2025 at 4:23 pm

Signos has been my favorite CGM company to date!

  44. @Apheelia77 on May 22, 2025 at 4:23 pm

It’s crazy because on their websites or social media when people are commenting they’re all saying about how it didn’t stay on. It fell off early but yet yours stuck super good. The only thing I can think is that these people did not shave the hair or clean with an alcohol white first or at least not properly but I hope it works. I just now put mine on.

  45. @PSGSoccerMom on May 22, 2025 at 4:24 pm

Did you create a stelo and lingo comparison?

  46. @TypeOneTalks on May 22, 2025 at 4:25 pm

Let me know what you think about Lingo. Are you excited or disappointed?

  47. @danrowland3908 on May 22, 2025 at 4:29 pm

Yes please compare Stella and Lingo.

  48. @andrew-isac on May 22, 2025 at 4:31 pm

    Great video new subscriber

  49. @jaycorbin on May 22, 2025 at 4:32 pm

I tried the Stelo for a couple months before switching to Stelo. The problem i have with Stelo is that it only gives you what your blood sugar is right now, it doesn’t give you any tips or anything on how to improve your blood sugar.

  50. @ktm.5416 on May 22, 2025 at 4:33 pm

I would love to see a head to head comparison!!!
