I got frequent disconnections before ,probably the installer from the cd was un updated,and tried the official site current latest installer,better use usb male to female connector than directly connecting it to pc due ,this wifi adpater might heated up and cause disconnections,and better know the range of your wifi signal,better also use wifi repeater (if you like wireless range wifi signal extension) and its good to go for hours
ive had 2 tp link wifi adapters and both broke within the span of 2 years, may be my computer but they both broke in different ways(1st randomly disconnect untill unplug and plug back in, then broke due to me unplugging and replugging back in constantly)(2nd just disconnects and reconnects when first start computer and will drop signal signigcantly out of nowhere but will be connected). Tbh i think tp link is a really cheap and low quality company, I mean their stuff works but their fragile and break easily it seems. just invest in a better one and save yourself the headache of not having wifi and trips to the store just to buy another tp link adapter.
Dont get this I had it and it broke in under a year. Just get something with intel ax210 or ax200 if you have a free m.2 slot put it there else buy a pcie wifi card with the intel chip in it.

Love TP-Link, but this isn’t the way to go. I spent $30 on a PCIe adapter and it works perfectly, and it’s faster. I recommend that.
