Cheap Charging Wires Are Destroying Your iPhone…

Cheap Charging Wires Are Destroying Your iPhone…

I explain why cheap charging wires are killing your iPhone, and why you should never use them.

You should only use brand named MFI certified charging wires such as belkin, anker, cellhelmet, and ampsentrix.

Cheap charging wires you buy for under $10 are not MFI certified even if they say they are in the title.

One of the wires I bought in the video stated that it was an “MFI certified” charging wire. Cutting them open revealed that they were in fact not.

If you keep using these cheap chargers, it causes stress on the iPhone’s tristar chip and it will eventually fail. The Tristar chip in iPhone tells the iPhone to charge so once this fails, your iPhone motherboard will need to be repaired which costs a lot of money. Don’t risk damaging your phone over paying $5 extra for a good charging wire.

Your mobile shows danger warning because of msi certification, apple demand’s high royalty for msi certification and thats why small company’s are not certified by apple but you mentioned that only apple’s chips(IC) are good but it’s wrong there are other company’s which make good quality cable and far better than apple, I think you should research on why all company’s had launched their own protocol. And for your kind information chargers already have circuit protection so when the high voltage try to flow from the circuit ghe circuit breaks so it does not matter if the cable has charging protection or voltage regulation chips…..

If the Apple phones are that delicate, you’d have to be an idiot to buy those phones. I’ve used cheap chargers with tons of phones over the years, with plain old cables with no form of protection in them whatsoever, just plain old data or direct wired charger cables and no damage. I call BS on your claim of a voltage surge when a car is started. That’s not how automotive electrical systems work. There is actually a voltage depression while the vehicle is started and stable voltage after that.

Grab a multimeter and measure it for yourself. It’s called science, collecting evidence and that whole prove your theory thing.

  3. @jimmysavile9127 on January 16, 2025 at 8:02 pm

Voltage regulators can be designed into the phone like in all Android phones- but no, Apple needs MFI certification to make more money. Apple can’t even get their USB C stable in their Iphone 15 series, as though USB-C is new tech…duh.

Been using cheap cables for all my phones and no charging issues. i like how you used in car example, maybe there is some truth there. I will say from some experience is that cheap cables will no deliver the max current to charge your phone. I’m talking cheap cable vs cheap cable. So do be mindful of that with a charge meter device you can buy for several bucks.

  5. @mickywinters8451 on January 16, 2025 at 8:03 pm

Cmon man. I’ve been in wireless since 1997. I’ve repaired iPhones since the iPhone 4. I have come across 2 iPhones in the thousands I’ve resold that didn’t power up and it was because of water damage not a voltage surge in a cable. If that was the case almost every one of the devices I’ve taken in would all have fried logic boards. This video is to scare you. I’ve used the generic ones for dozens of years. Yes the cables eventually stop working and sometimes in a month, but I have yet to have one fry the phone. You gotta better chance of being struck by lightning 😂

  6. @jcgarcia4575 on January 16, 2025 at 8:04 pm

Apple don’t want to put that protection chip, instead on phone they put in the cable so they can make more profit for the original cables and more profit for the original parts for repair

  7. @mrmurdock6994 on January 16, 2025 at 8:05 pm

I’m sorry but this is incorrect. the devices regulating the charge are, the charger on the wall and the iphone itself. the iphone will block anything wrong.

  8. @tenzackyogi1742 on January 16, 2025 at 8:07 pm

Apple is strictly using patents on usb surge protection on their apple eco system..

  9. @shapelessed on January 16, 2025 at 8:08 pm

You know what a wire is? A single uninsulated strand of metal… It’a not a cable. It’s like comparing a shovel to a metal dish plate.

  10. @NGreedia on January 16, 2025 at 8:09 pm

Ironically, all the cables that have failed in the past few years have been Anker. Despite them being declared among the "best", the quality/longevity is junk I find. After 6-12 months, they have always started to lose connection intermittently and the "ding" kept sounding every few seconds, like when you’re first plugging in the plug. The latest one, the charge drops to zero once it reaches 25 watts according to a power reader I’ve started using. No such issue with the uGreen or Samsung cables.

The spike of volatge he is saying is bullshit. what does even the meaning of spike of voltage? the power just go trough the port. Even THE GATE KEEPER is basic concept that every wire has How ever the phone will regulate voltage intake anyway

  12. @pvim on January 16, 2025 at 8:10 pm

What BS is this lmao, the "voltage spikes" or other stuff are protected on the charger side not the cable, the main purpose of the chips is like the E mark chips in USB C cables, the NXP chip is a microcontroller and the other one contains the cable serial number etc. There is not protecting etc going there. without these chips the iphone will just show non genuine or wont fast charger. This is yet another measure from apple to pocket more money.

    2 Esdras 7:75
I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times.

78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High — 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways.

81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times.

88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders.

    92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;

and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified.

99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."

102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." …..2 Esdras 7:75

  20. @xpusostomos on January 16, 2025 at 8:20 pm

If that tiny tiny tiny tiny chip can protect your phone, that means Apple is negligent in not putting it in the phone. Not sure that I believe the entire narrative though, I charged my phone for years with all sorts of crap wires.

  21. @polska905 on January 16, 2025 at 8:24 pm

Why? Because Apple doesn’t want you using cheap cables when they can rip you off with a expensive cable.

  22. @sinnehrose2713 on January 16, 2025 at 8:24 pm

I’m feeling enlightened lol, (no I’m not really laughing out loud) but informative and my man is not endorsing it to the point where he’s including a link to Apple, which tells me he’s not getting paid for this, bottom line. But there’s a lot of intelligent comments here and I’m with most of you, all in all, I think I’ll finally give in and get a “genuine con-rip off Apple charger. Ugh 🤦🏼‍♀️

  23. @wearemany73 on January 16, 2025 at 8:24 pm

Apple want to gatekeep your phone charging on their cables simply because they’re designed to be fragile and they’re £40 each. It’s a much simpler issue.

  27. @IdeationGeek on January 16, 2025 at 8:34 pm

This chip is so small, it should have been embedded in the iPhones in the first place. It’s a bad engineering, right there, by Apple.

  29. @tutacat on January 16, 2025 at 8:36 pm

Actually, it does not send it to ground, because that would be a super dumb short circuit.
It still supports low voltage charging (5V 2A) just not 9V 2.5A

  30. @michaelelkin9542 on January 16, 2025 at 8:37 pm

The worst, least reliable and most phone killing cables are the ones from Apple themselves. They are the ones selling the new phones so why not destroy the old one. Yes there are bad cables out there, but few worse than Apple’s.

  31. @jec_ecart on January 16, 2025 at 8:37 pm

No. Cheap apple planned obsolescence and arrogance is destroying your wallets.

  49. @ryan9020 on January 16, 2025 at 8:56 pm

Mannnn, the car thing makes soooo much sense to me. Not sure how I bumped into this, but with it being winter and being in Northern Canada we run our vehicles for while before we even dare getting in. So one morning about 2 weeks ago, I started my car, let it for about 15 minutes. When I got in I could actually smell some burnt plastic. Didn’t really think much of it at the time , just figured I’d have a repair bill to pay very shortly and went about my day. Well, that evening I jumped into the vehicle to head home and I went to plug my phone in as I usually would. This is when I realized that my cheap Amazon cables, connected to my cheap Amazon car charger were likely damn close to lighting my car up earlier that morning, they pretty well had no ends left to them. Just a large, round blob of plastic. Definitely flipping for the good stuff moving forward, next time it might be my home .. been there, don’t want to do that one again!
