Hey, Iโ€™m having a hard time with my screen stick. I have a SANYOT and I canโ€™t get the remote control pair to the TV so I can put it on the Internet. Can you help me? I donโ€™t have a remote control to the TV.

  4. @findingfern on January 14, 2025 at 7:17 pm

Wow Ive been a solid Roku fan. But I do have an iPhone and now that I am moving into my own place Iโ€™m really considering the Apple TV
    Thanks

  9. @siamhie on January 14, 2025 at 7:21 pm

I guess I’m a Roku fan boy. Started with the Roku XD in 2013 then upgraded to the Roku 3, then Roku 4 and since 2016 the Roku Ultra.

So I got a new problem. I’m using the Samsung S95D and the Samsung Q800D Soundbar. The Soundbar uses the e-arc HDMI (HDMI 3). Now, where should I plug my Google TV Streamer? I tried other HDMI but the Google remote doesn’t control the volume/Soundbar. If I use the TV remote it works, but if press the NETFLIX button it opened the Netflix from the Samsung TV, and I cannot use any feature of the Google remote. Much appreciated.

I have no adds on my firestick 4k max.

  15. @EmblemParade on January 14, 2025 at 7:25 pm

You can do "cloud based gaming" on all the streaming boxes, not just the NVIDIA Shield (except Apple TV, because Apple hates you). Just install the NVIDIA GeForce Now app, connect a controller via Bluetooth, and Bob’s your uncle. Even my TV can do it without a stick (LG webOS).

  16. @Swecan76 on January 14, 2025 at 7:26 pm

Shield is the only one that really allows you to turn of Dolby Vision to just use HDR10. Which is better on Sony TVs. I would personally want an Apple TV 4K. If it can easily turn off DV permanently. I am also kind of waiting to see if Apple will release a newer version soon. Maybe with enhanced AI upscaling or something.

  17. @HellStorm666NL on January 14, 2025 at 7:28 pm

If you have a good sound system (Denon 8500HA in 7.4.1) and a LG OLED TV, I reckon that having the best video and sound quality is the most important.

What box or stick do you recommend then?
I now have the Chromecast with GoogleTV

  18. @mikeymacaque on January 14, 2025 at 7:28 pm

I love Apple TV but I really wish Apple would revamp the remote and their on-screen keyboard. Yes, I know I can use my phone instead but โœจthe fact that Apple TV pushes this feature so muchโœจshows how much of a pain it is to use.

  19. @JMSynthetics on January 14, 2025 at 7:28 pm

I used Roku Ultras for years but more recently swapped over to Apple TV boxes, I feel the apps are updated more often, offers better picture, and I started to find some apps that were not available on the Roku. I considered the Shield Pro but it also had limited support for some apps. I also prefer a device that has a wired ethernet port vs one that is wifi only. Call me old school.

  20. @D3ZG1978 on January 14, 2025 at 7:32 pm

Come on we all know why most people buy a fire stick… ๐Ÿ˜…

  21. @Edward135i on January 14, 2025 at 7:33 pm

Apple TV, if you don’t like Apple, Chromecast.

  22. @stevied2710 on January 14, 2025 at 7:34 pm

I bought a Smart LG TV 15 years ago more. Before the Google TV where built in to them TV. Only problem was I couldn’t use YouTube omy TV and I bought Google Chrome Cast. Why did I do this because LG stop supporting this service I’m my model and brand. This will happen to all smart TV even if you get updates, these services will stop after a while and you will not able to watch some or all of your smart streaming services.

  23. @dhowting on January 14, 2025 at 7:35 pm

Just buy a gaming console with a disc drive. They can provide streaming services, play DVDs and you have the option for games.

  24. @ronhenson7167 on January 14, 2025 at 7:35 pm

The title to this video is misleading. It is about sticks and boxes. The title should be Fire Sticks, Google Chromecast and the like. I wanted to see a comparison of "Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, or Fire TV." It is not about TVs but devices. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!

  25. @csteppe04 on January 14, 2025 at 7:36 pm

Thanks for sharing! I have an older chromecast like I think really old it’s some gray. Do you know if any of the new ones offer more apps because I think I can only get like 5apps through the setup process?

  26. @jeffwest4325 on January 14, 2025 at 7:36 pm

Can you please do a review of streaming services/apps, especially for quality (least amount of compression, treatment of older content, etc).

  27. @robertcrystals on January 14, 2025 at 7:36 pm

So no overview of the Apple TV? Great job.

  28. @jorgem50 on January 14, 2025 at 7:36 pm

I just purchased an Apple tv after years of using a firestick and then an ONN walmart streaming device (actually pretty good for the price). I must say that Apple TV is the best IMO.

  29. @ImLVLegitcusImthasht on January 14, 2025 at 7:37 pm

Google TV devices are the best, I mean to side load apps that allow you to watch hundreds of thousands of movies. No brainer. Honestly, if you think about it, ads are amazing when you’re overwhelmed from the hundred 9f thousands of applmAlso I have a dreamcast on my Onn 4K Pro.

  31. @veritas3379 on January 14, 2025 at 7:41 pm

Hi Caleb, I have a Tv with built in Google TV which I want to love, it does not have any compression artifacts that I can see. My 4k max fire stick has terrible compression artifacts , I don’t know if I can fix that with the fire stick settings? But my huge huge issue with Google TV is that it does not allow me to stay on and search in an app using the remote control microphone it will redirect me to the Google tv homepage?

  32. @beingsneaky on January 14, 2025 at 7:48 pm

yeah yeha yeah.. just an apple fanboi..

  33. @leokolev on January 14, 2025 at 7:52 pm

    The BEST one is :
NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Pro – 4K HDR Streaming Media Player

  34. @GregRband on January 14, 2025 at 7:52 pm

Another Great review from the Caleb. Thanks so much for a quick update on whats new in the streaming world. As a usual fan of Roku 4k stick, I’m considering plugging my Chromecast with Google TV back in to revisit as Roku seems to be heading more and more into the Advertising Realm, on the screensaver landscape, and as usual on the right of the menu…. its not a deal breaker (yet), but I’ve seen a trend of less "full" search results which tells me that there may be "pay for play/placement" going on more and more…. but who am I to think such things, I’m not Caleb, lol. Thanks again buddy!

  35. @wayned1807 on January 14, 2025 at 7:53 pm

We purchased a Sony X95K last year and love it, however it came with the Google TV installed that was causing the TV to freeze two or three times a day that required a restart. How do I know it was caused by the Google? By a process of elimination. After trying almost everything from freeing memory by using a thumb drive and moving apps, to getting faster internet, to spending hours on internet forums looking for answers. We finally purchased the new Roku 4K Ultra and the problem went away.

  36. @zoiks6631 on January 14, 2025 at 7:53 pm

For the 37th year in a row, itโ€™s the Nvidia Shield TV. Every year, YouTubers churn out these videos, and every year they are useless.

  37. @Pallidus_Rider on January 14, 2025 at 7:56 pm

I would have added the Tablo device, as it adds in OTA (over the air) recording.

  38. @everettedl on January 14, 2025 at 7:56 pm

I hadn’t considered the ads that come with the chromecast with google TV. It’s not terrible, but I usually know what I want to watch, and the streaming service I use already curates content for me. I don’t like sorting through curated content to get to my curated content.

  39. @jsr-uz3oj on January 14, 2025 at 8:00 pm

I’ve had NVIDIA.not worth the money, the remote sucks. Google TV. Not a fan. Had TIVO 4K for 2 years, only 25 worked fine. Just bought the new Roku Advanced box and I love it. No Google Play Store apps? The reason being is that Roku can’t verify that the apps will work on their device. So far, zero buffering issues. I’ve had my NVIDIA SHEILD for 4 years with no improvements. Waste of money.

  40. @davidgolden7524 on January 14, 2025 at 8:02 pm

Do any of these upscale sports programming on YouTube TV to 4k?

  41. @jaxxboss1 on January 14, 2025 at 8:03 pm

I’d guess that most Shield users know how to customize their gizmo, so there are no ads. Not to mention all the unmentionable other stuff. Wink wink

  42. @jeffwest4325 on January 14, 2025 at 8:03 pm

Putting the โ€˜Continue Watchingโ€™ at the top of the AppleTv interface makes it absolutely the most usable device IMO.

  43. @EdwardCheek on January 14, 2025 at 8:05 pm

I have the Fire TV cube which works great with my Fire TV Recast DVR, however, their software updates are buggy, now the Fire TV only controls the TV/receiver volume, mute occasionally

  44. @lowridinpacker on January 14, 2025 at 8:06 pm

You missed the best one. ROKU Streambar! Replaces the crappy sound on most TVs and Lowers sound on commercials. My wife would never let me leave Roku just because of the remotes!

  45. @m3arvin on January 14, 2025 at 8:07 pm

The Apple is going to be the best hardware and most seamless functionally… and it can be a Home Pod hub, however the Roku "travels" and the Apple doesn’t. I have my little stick I throw in my luggage and when I check-in to a hotel, I don’t have to fuss with any logins and remember to log out of the hotel TV.

  46. @joelh.6450 on January 14, 2025 at 8:07 pm

Which one is best for international travel and international app compatibility?

  47. @EmergeMusic on January 14, 2025 at 8:08 pm

Iโ€™ve had 3 Apple TV streaming devices. All of them had issues from shitty glitches, to dying remotes. Iโ€™ve since switched to Roku devices and have had a near flawless experience with zero issues! I can even replace my batteries. I love most apple products but the TV just sucks IMO.

  48. @maximusextreme3725 on January 14, 2025 at 8:09 pm

When he eliminated the Shield and picked an Apple device as number 1 I was thinking, tell me you donโ€™t understand streaming without telling me you donโ€™t understand steaming. If your main reason for picking the Apple is lack of ads you definitely donโ€™t want an Apple. Those of us who know, just know.

  49. @TroyWatsonYEG on January 14, 2025 at 8:09 pm

    Clown opinion.
