i am a hvac master technician and i hate the smart thermostat fad that sadly isn’t going away. if you want things to last remember the kiss suggestion keep it simple stupid. if you must have a ridiculous thermostat just to turn your ac on and off dont count out honeywell they have built the best most reliable thermostats in quantity and years more so than all other thermostat makers combined. if i had to pick from the others id say ecobee. i want nest to go away.

  7. @robcastillo-x2u on October 8, 2025 at 1:23 am

Nest is pure garbage. it has a mind of its own and we hate it

  8. @Terufe2670 on October 8, 2025 at 1:23 am

Not sure how a video released 2 years ago can be about the 2025 thermostats…. But it did cover all the thermostats I was considering including the ecobee which I no longer think is worth the price

  9. @ReaperDawg102 on October 8, 2025 at 1:24 am

    Sensi is the Best

  10. @RunTheTape on October 8, 2025 at 1:24 am

In europe we have the homematic stuff, open and reliable (home assistant local ready through the CCU)
    Best ecosystem by far

No mention of Tado V3+. Is there a reason for this?

  12. @irfanhaq8983 on October 8, 2025 at 1:24 am

Nest is a real learning thermostat, I just learned I wasted 180 dollars

  13. @MaverickInn-zw2vq on October 8, 2025 at 1:25 am

the nest is not letting keep the fan constantly on . i bought the $99 one. do not want to use timer
can amazon thermostat keep it on constantly ?

  15. @bokneeza on October 8, 2025 at 1:27 am

I’m here to replace a Nest thermostat. I didn’t buy it, the previous owner installed it. It’s garbage

Best of 2025 made 2 years ago, how are they so good at predicting the future? 🤔

  17. @bobbykimble6358 on October 8, 2025 at 1:28 am

I am happy with my Amazon therm but that Emerson is cool as hell looking with the customization of background ect.

  18. @jamesm568 on October 8, 2025 at 1:29 am

I was so happy when I got my Nest thermostat and now I hate that mofo. If you got a heat pump with auxiliary heating avoid the Nest at all cost. Honeywell is your friend.

  19. @R0n1n760 on October 8, 2025 at 1:29 am

Best thermostat 2025…. But made 2 years ago. Video was once called 2023, then 2024, now 2025. Outdated video

  20. @RonVichar on October 8, 2025 at 1:33 am

The nest just works and comes with a full package to get you going. Installation was intuitive too. My previous thermostat wouldn’t work without a c wire.

  21. @m3t4lcor33 on October 8, 2025 at 1:33 am

HVAC technician told me that they usually have a bunch of issues with the nest thermostat, Ecobee is better.

  22. @martybli on October 8, 2025 at 1:34 am

Best Smart Thermostats for 2025 yet this video was posted in 2023!!!!!!!

  23. @Reuz1721 on October 8, 2025 at 1:36 am

Basically reading the comments from actual users, don’t buy nest, buy the ecobee

  24. @alanahr5 on October 8, 2025 at 1:37 am

I prefer the Nest E compared to all of them never had a single issue with it, but they don’t sell it in stores anymore had it 4 years until lightning hit our house and destroyed it, it’s by far the superior version. Nest learning was absolutely garbage always had issues with it as it would change the temperature by itself, tried adding a common wire since this version has a common known issue where it loses power in cold weather but the common wire didn’t fix it and turns out after 1 year (bought brand new from Walmart in October 2023) the Rc terminal went bad during the coldest time of the winter causing our furnace to short cycle $230 down the drain. I can’t stand the Nest 2020 model (current install now) it’s ugly, basic and don’t get me started on the crappy thermostat UI for Google home since this is the first thermostat that DOES NOT allow the useage of the Nest App but it was the only option we had.

  25. @zanehoward6558 on October 8, 2025 at 1:37 am

Nest learning thermostat is the worst! Not being able to adjust the eco temp is the worst design. I get its “eco” but when it’s 100degrees outside at night, 76 is still too hot to sleep in and makes the house stuffy. Needs to have some sort of adjustability. I shouldn’t have to walk around the house for the A/C to realize to kick on.

  26. @kafops on October 8, 2025 at 1:39 am

Are you able to turn on the ac with just phone app?

  27. @LarryNelson-p5u on October 8, 2025 at 1:40 am

Does the Amazon smart thermostat have differential temp settings?

  28. @stone5015 on October 8, 2025 at 1:43 am

Ecobee, hands down all the way. Great customer support, too.

  29. @rkyadavcouk on October 8, 2025 at 1:44 am

Which one is compatible with home assistant

  30. @arunkishore7879 on October 8, 2025 at 1:44 am

NEST OR ECO BEE PREMIUM I AM DEBATING BETWEEN THESE TWO ITS A TOUGH DECISION.. SOME SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

  31. @dikl2689 on October 8, 2025 at 1:45 am

Spend thousands on a heat pump and water tank system. Then Ideal/Halo want to screw you for £52 to get access from the internet.

  32. @revanslacey on October 8, 2025 at 1:47 am

This is so confusing. Apparently Google has dicontinued Nest in the UK and EcoBee isn’t available in the UK.

  33. @m.d.5304 on October 8, 2025 at 1:48 am

Nest truly fancy GARBAGE ! Turn my AC unit which was prepared for winter time and covered !! Yes I turned AC mode off . Good thing i heard it ! It was red hot Now i have to call specialist to inspect if unit need to repair 😡

  34. @MrWord2085 on October 8, 2025 at 1:48 am

    Ecobee premium

  35. @ChristopherRichards-u4e on October 8, 2025 at 1:50 am

As a heating engineer based in the UK, I often work with a range of smart heating controls. One of the most common and reliable brands I come across is Drayton, and I highly recommend their Wiser range. It’s my go-to suggestion when customers ask for a smart, flexible, and easy-to-use heating solution.

  36. @donaldcampbell7755 on October 8, 2025 at 1:51 am

I have a 18-20 year old heat pump system. Comfortmaker compressor unit outside. The reversing valve opens for cooling. (Default heating mode valve closes.) I went through 2 nest thermostats in a year. 2019-2020. The nest thermostat relay for the reversing valve would not support the coil (electro magnet) on the reversing valve. The first nest thermostat was used for about a month before failure. you could hear the reversing valve fluttering. (while cooling) I called a company out, explained that I’m not a total idiot, don’t BS me. They BS me. 2 separate tech visits one a senior tech, said I needed a new reversing valve, filter and 9lbs of R22 (a few years ago $150.00 per lb for R22.) And even with the home warranty I had with my newly purchased home, $1500 out of pocket. I asked what was bad, they said the coil on the valve. I asked why not replace the coil to which they argued with me. So, I replaced the coil myself, and the problem persisted. I called another company, he wired my valve to be open constantly and it started working. Said he would get back to me when work slowed down. I reinstalled my old Honeywell thermostat and removed his bypass, problem fixed. I got a second expensive heat pump rated Nest, and months later it did the same thing.

  37. @hapaboy0808 on October 8, 2025 at 1:53 am

Speaking with various professional HVAC guys, the overwhelming majority can’t stand Nest thermostats. I went with Ecobee..
I previously owned a 1st gen Nest that served me well through the years, but it ultimately got fried when we were having our unit serviced, not sure if it was the technicians fault or something with our system.

I had the Ecobee (older version) for a couple years in my old house with zero issues. When I moved my new house already had a new gen 3 Nest installed. Worked great for two months then it stopped connecting to my wifi. Contacted Nest and they sent a refurbished replacement. It connected to my wifi and worked for a day and then it stopped connecting. I will ask for another replacement then if still does the same thing I will go back to Ecobee. I read this is a known issue with the Nest.

this is very scare, my cat sad

  41. @Itsme-vo4fx on October 8, 2025 at 2:02 am

If you are comparing best 2025 Thermostats, why are you not using the new (back in 2024) 4th. Generation Nest thermostat instead of an old one from many years ago.

  42. @siqili9563 on October 8, 2025 at 2:02 am

Ecobee sucks!!! Don’t buy it. Its thermostat suddenly dropped my preset temperature for one room a few times, which could potentially destroy my zone controller board. When I tried to contact their customer service about it, there was nobody to talk!!!

  43. @-.__.__.-Rad on October 8, 2025 at 2:05 am

how about any aprilaire 8920W equivalents? I found none… That thing controls ac, heat, dehumidifier, humidifier, air purifier/exchanger, all in one… That one is smart too

  44. @maverick1698 on October 8, 2025 at 2:05 am

Ecobee works great but has programmed obsolescence. I am on my third. Both failed wi-fi communication at around 3 years.

  45. @LeslieBegley on October 8, 2025 at 2:05 am

Crazy question. How is a Best of 2025 video posted 2 years ago?

thanks for the info i will be getting a nest learning thermostat

  50. @fransiscoscaramanga674 on October 8, 2025 at 2:11 am

I just bought a Nest 3rd generation learning thermostat for my steam boiler with a 24-volt 2-wire thermostat. I installed it and connected it to my Wi-Fi. I got all the way to test mode, but the boiler would not come on. The damper motor started to hum and buzz, and it would not open the flapper. back it goes……
