It is always somehow refreshing to see how the quest of finding the optimum in minimalism leads to piling up new stuff … seems I’m not the only one confronted with that fact.
So my main question is: what are you doing with all the old stuff you replace with new items?
I see in the background kind of a collection of items – do you collect those thing? Or keep them for a while as spares? Do you sell them after some time on eBay, or give them to charity? Or how exactly do you deal with all these redundant items (of which you thought just some while before that they were the best ever item you could get)?
And this is not kidding, I’m sometimes in a similar situation and would like to know how exactly to deal with it, before I end up on my way to minimalism as a hoarder …

Some of the Amazon reviews for the Minix mention sparks, arcing, and other safety related issues. No issues for you with the Minix so far?

  5. @katsudonSaikou on April 8, 2025 at 1:16 pm

Your channel is such a breath of fresh air when coming from stuff like Pack Hacker. I hate how soul-less that channel became. Yours in comparison feels like an old friend just showing what they like. Keep at it!

    ronvon?? i guess it’s rovyvon

A suggested product I use and love: As We Move Dominate Boxer Briefs. These are the lightest quickest drying underwear I’ve ever tried. I can make it a week on 3 pairs of these easily as they can wash and dry so quickly. These are my personal go to minimalist underwear. I’m a highly active gym goer and there isn’t a better underwear in my opinion for those who want lightweight comfortable underwear perfect for minimalist packing.

  13. @drwindsurf on April 8, 2025 at 1:30 pm

Great list. I love the Zeros for how small they pack but I find they only last 2 summers. I would love to find a more durable minimalist sandal.

My husband has this dgi gimble thing in use for a few years, really nice! On our last trip he managed to break this little joystick thing and we found out that you can buy a replacement stick. Really good to keep it sustainable.

  15. @PhillipChangMD on April 8, 2025 at 1:32 pm

Not sure if I missed it, but what is the multi-med pillbox that you talked about?

    Ron Bon?

  17. @taylorsloanYT on April 8, 2025 at 1:32 pm

You can also just pop the little white cover off of the smaller OneBlade.

  18. @warrenstanford7240 on April 8, 2025 at 1:35 pm

Tom Bihn all the way for me for the last five years around Europe and Asia. 👍

  19. @michalm972 on April 8, 2025 at 1:35 pm

There are tiny USB-C adapters for Philips OneBlade and other Philips trimmers. Bought one recently for ~1 Euro from AliE and it works well. Don’t have to bring an extra charger anymore.

  20. @JoanneFong on April 8, 2025 at 1:36 pm

Slightly tangential: I bought a snorkel mask with a prescription lens online a few years ago. I recommend it for anyone who has different strengths in each eye, or very strong prescriptions that the rental shops might not stock.

  21. @bobnyquist2590 on April 8, 2025 at 1:36 pm

Great video. What is the brand of the white packing cube?

  22. @Umbertobini on April 8, 2025 at 1:39 pm

Great video. Could you please review the Tomtoc Aviator 1.5L sling bag. Thank you in advance.

From one of your previous videos I checked out human gear products. They were super for my trip to Iceland. My eight year old grandson also liked them. So he got some for Christmas. Lol

  26. @bluesouth9090 on April 8, 2025 at 1:43 pm

Just discovered this and your channel. Well done and thank you!

  27. @violaineaudrey8841 on April 8, 2025 at 1:44 pm

Hello ! I enjoyed this, I particularly appreciate that you don’t force yourself to promote countless new things like so much other channels do… it’s very valuable and refreshing. Thanks a lot 😊🌿🌸

  28. @gg-dv9vd on April 8, 2025 at 1:45 pm

How was the Manta Ray snorkeling? Heading to BI this year but am terrified of being in the ocean at night. What company did you go with?

  29. @aaronnadeau1400 on April 8, 2025 at 1:49 pm

What are the brands of those tiny noise machines? I haven’t found an app that my wife finds as acceptable as our home noisemaker, a smaller one would be appreciated!

  38. @scottvaughn7824 on April 8, 2025 at 1:59 pm

32degrees cool t shirts $21.99 for a 4 pack. I’ve been on the road for over a year and a half, holding up great and can’t beat the price. I learned in Thailand, or was it Türkiye, that black was not a good color in the heat so I just left my black tee in a hotel, clean, for someone else. No great loss at that price.

  39. @thomasquigley7040 on April 8, 2025 at 2:02 pm

Nice overview. Thanks. I have to say; I thought the Tom Bihn was a dog bowl.

For the razor/trimmer, I switched to the Gillette proglide 4-in-1. It can do most of what the Oneblade can do, but with a rechargeable AA, which means it will (hopefully!) last a lot longer since the battery is replaceable. It can also use Gillette cartridges to be a proper razor, so it works very well for reducing things to carry.

  42. @andyyanchan on April 8, 2025 at 2:04 pm

Great video! What brand is the magnetic usb c to c cable? Thanks!

  43. @timhell8420 on April 8, 2025 at 2:04 pm

I habe another Tip for the Tom bihn pouch, Helikon-Tex Exfil Bag.

  44. @tgafire87 on April 8, 2025 at 2:06 pm

That electric razor in particular is 💩.

A safety razor is the way to go. Built to last pretty much forever. There’s a whole variety of replacement blades that are super cheap.

  45. @SanJava on April 8, 2025 at 2:06 pm

Great recommendations. I also like the Patagonina capeline shirts. Some versions are too shiny, however. Makes you look strangely reflective. It’s worth trying the Capeline-Merino hybrids to get the benefits of both materials without the shine. I would love to find a small packable day pack that works to carry a 13 laptop.

  46. @christakenyon7043 on April 8, 2025 at 2:07 pm

"If you dare to turn it on in a hotel" dying

  47. @lisaatp on April 8, 2025 at 2:07 pm

LOVE the Tom Bihn little round travel thingy!

  48. @SlumpQuest on April 8, 2025 at 2:07 pm

Thank you so much for this format. So tired of lists of "essential" travel gear that is just whatever is new, not what is high quality or stood the test of time. Great work.

  49. @veronicama6179 on April 8, 2025 at 2:07 pm

glad to hear you like DJI products. They are also popularin China.

  50. @JeroenCoelen on April 8, 2025 at 2:09 pm

Love your videos, have been binging them recently in search of a new backpack. I would love you to get a slightly higher quality camera so I can see what you are pointing at a bit better. Do you have a donation page?
