I have one by mistake when I ordered something from Amazon and this device was in my package. At first I had not clue what it was but I havenโt used it and that was last year
Hello, I can’t decide whether to get and SSD or an HDD (an external hard drive) to store my video files at. But I just discovered my folder size of each video folder. So I have one folder containing 11 video files, in which that folder is 16.7 MB, I have one folder containing 4 video files in which that folder is 28.4 MB, I have one folder containing 22 video files in which that folder is 6.48 GB, I have one folder containing 47 video files, in which that folder is 351 MB, and I have one last folder that’s containing 36 video files in which that folder is 207 MB. So in final thoughts, What do you think will work the best and longest for the video files to be saved in which hard drive? The reason why I don’t wanna delete these video files is because it’s saved from old parts of YouTube from a long time ago. In which some of these videos were deleted from YouTube and potentially lost media now. Which is why I’m archiving them. Thanks in advance. I’ve also been hearing SSD’s are primarily used for storing gaming stuff, While HDD can last a lot longer and likely be recoverable on which file is saved on there, than an SSD, since I’ve heard SSD’s are less reliable when it comes to saving files, than an HDD. But I’ve also been hearing that it’s not really recommended on buying hard disk drives (HDD) anymore, since it’s apparently an older and less reliable technology and also creates heat and within the laptop than an SSD. But like I’m trying to find some external drive where i can just add my video files and just safely unplug from my machine, and leave it somewhere in my room. I’m not trying to have it plugged in my laptop all day. Similar to a PS console external hard drive where you store your games into the hard drive, and then safely unplug the cable, and you can just leave the PS hard drive somewhere in your room. It’s been really a struggle for me on which external hard drive would work best for my computer, and to safely add in my video files in. Thank you. Another thing to make clear, no I’m not using an external hard drive to store in my games in (despite me using a gaming laptop), It’s only for my video files.
I purchased through my work the SanDisk Extreme Portable 4TB SSD a couple years back. It did have a major issue with data becoming corrupted, and occasionally the drive itself would disappear from my computer. It would set me back a few hours (and that’s with regular backups). I discovered I could repair the drive using Command Prompt, but the files were usually unrecoverable on the drive, and this issue would repeat every week or two. It was super annoying.
Eventually SanDisk did release a firmware update that fixed it, and I still use that same SSD to this day, hanging on for about a year and a half without incident now. I actually bought a second one for personal use with the patch pre-installed, no complaints with that one. So for anyone considering buying it, I’d say just make sure to buy the one that has the patch pre-installed or download and install it yourself before using it for anything serious. That issue aside, they aren’t bad for the price.
This is gonna be hdd related. But im assuming i am gonna need a usb 3.0 cable and a sata cable since i use a laptop, and the hdd i might be buying soon is a 3.5 inch WD gold enterprises
I dont know if this is 100% correct, but i heard it was the 3rd gen 4tb modle that was running into issues. My 2tb one I bought a month ago seems fine so far. ๐ค๐ป๐ฌ
I got 9 of them atm, 1 failed because i accidently dropped the backpack they were in from an escalator. Thankfully only that 1 broke. FYI I’ve had these for years now, no issues at all.
I just got it 2 days back so is there any issue with it currently

It happens to me ๐ข thankfully I have several backups. Disappointed with Sandisk
My dad lives off thede things, I know this video is a little old but he’s only ever had 1 of them fail and that 1 wasn’t formatted properly
Perfect timingโฆ was just about to buy oneโฆ
Thank you very much!
That a good SSD don’t spread false news u dumb assss…. Sandisk SSD is speed and Fast and Goodโค
Updated firmware fixed the issues with those drives.
The reason is the thermal pad is not effectively dissipating heat which is why itโs failing so easly
DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE. IM SORRY I DIDNT REVIEW IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. ITS TOTAL GARBAGE
Bought one from maybe 6 years ago still work fine.

no issues
This fails to mention by and large Sandisk has a very reputable and trusted history. IT professionals everywhere trust them.
SanDisk in the images but you say western digital?
Among filmmakers I heard from I can confirm that these drives made scary moments happen. So yeah: Sandisk is a nono right now.
Yeah, bought one of these. It was dead out of the box. Returned.
Sighs โฆ mine just died โฆ and then I see this video ๐ข
