Do you have tutorials on how to setup a NAS server? I might buy one in the future.
Our unit failed, and its a 1200 brick. They wont cover warranty. I would avoid Synology. After a search, you see many with the issues. The SW was nice, but not needed. New MFGs are using 3.2 Gen2 USB with much better connectivity, and 10gb lan, and with SSD Hybrid. These are out dated models.

I got 2 of this and 1 das (i only use 8tb das but that because of my pc doesnt have any room for another hdd), got 2 nas but its count as 1 because the second nas only for backup if the other one fail (i got 10tb each nas)
You can have ten backup drives but it only has a single point of failure. Your house burns, you lose all the data. Cloud storage is the way to go.

I guarantee setting it up is the absolute most annoying and pathetic parts of this device. Technology should not be overly complicated anymore its 2023 get to the times.

I understand in what a NAS is very convenient, but I hate having a drive from which I can’t work. Being obliged to move the files to a work drive is too time consuming for me.
Even from one drive to another in local, only ssds, it takes sometimes ten to 30 minutes… that’s the only thing I don’t understand about NAS (for a solo usage). I’d rather have a big SSD bay, at least, for speed !
Is this good to store photo & videos? I do a lot of photography, car and motorcycle videos/content. I’m full on storage from my apple Mac laptop. I’m not sure what the best drive to get. Is the NAS drive worth the purchase?

If increase magnetics charge density so it will store data but also generator of electricity to power robotics or machinery cpu
