I’m a big fan of Secretlab gaming chairs, but I keep hearing critics say they are just as bad as all of the other gaming chairs and that I should be investing in an ergonomic chair. So in today’s video I test out the X1 Flex Mesh Task Chair from X-Chair to see how it stacks up against my favorite gaming chair!

I feel like the ergo chair market is overpriced. I have a mesh chair from staples i bought in 2016ish for $70.

Its identical to your x-chair without the lumbar support. Exact same arms with less range of motion, same head rest, but no back rest adjustment. I assume the mesh is higher quality but the mesh pattern is also identical to mine.

Thanks for the realistic and relatable feedback. I’m definetely going to stick with my gaming chair due to budget but its nice to know there is an ergo option. Nice comedy bit at the end and I love your Kramer wall mural. Hope you have a great week ahead.

Is it safe to buy a 2022 Titan now without worrying there could be a new 2023 iteration coming out soon?

  6. @n9ne on October 6, 2025 at 1:28 am

i have a gaming chair and a $2000 ergo chair and i prefer the gaming chair much more even though this ergo chair is build like it will last forever. gaming chairs are way better for your back.. ergo chairs are so uncomfortable in long sessions. i honestly do not understand how people are saying that ergo chairs are better.
this isn’t my first ergo chair either so. just wish they’d make these gaming chairs better quality.. atm you shouldn’t spent more than $100 on a gaming chair since all of them pretty much use the same tilt mechanisms that break if you’re someone like me that can’t sit still for longer than five seconds.

Dude found expensive and crappy ergo chairs to compare. LOL
No way gaming chair is comfortable. There is tons of office chairs that are more comfortable and cheaper too.

Wasted 300$ on an ergonomic chair… and my LOWER BACK got DESTROYED…HORRIBLE ERGONOMICS!! Horrible back support and horrible dull plastic materials.

If you live in or near a mid sized city, you can always pick up a Steelcase or Herman Miller model for cheap. I got a refurb Steelcase Leap V2 for about $250 for my home office and it feels fantastic and like new.

At the office, I have an Aeron. Not as comfortable as the Leap, but I still like the breathability.

Tend to be off put by the gamer aesthetic.

    Very interesting conclusions.

Indeed, I hadn’t thought about that.

I don’t understand why these ergo chairs are made so… casually.

Instead of making smooth adjustment by pressing a button – they do it by raising and lowering… especially since these things are not cheap.

The Titan chair sucks. What’s worse is their support. They want you to send them videos and they said that cylinder popping is normal (really?) and it takes an act of God to get them to accept this. The company that owns Serta had no issue sending cylinders when they were popping as they value their customers. Secretlab says they have these spinal experts and doctors that helped them design it. These must be doctors that barely made it through school and maybe learned to just draw blood r clip your toe nails. I have the leatherette version that supports big and tall people as I figured that the cylinder would last longer since I only weigh 210 lbs. I was wrong, it made noise faster than any other chair. The sad part is that I never raise the chair and extended the cylinder but it kept going out. You can feel give in the chair movement even though everything is tight. The back even pops. They had to replace the base and wheels, after fighting with them for weeks, due to a different popping noise. I installed them and they made even more noise instantly. That took two sets to fix. It comes with a 1 year warranty that can be extended to 3 by putting a picture of your chair on social media, better do it and hope they don’t keep declining warranty on the parts. I’m an older gentleman and I don’t abuse my stuff. My first Serta chair lasted 6 years with nothing having to be replaced but the second one made noises from the first week and I bought a third one and it was the same. This chair has destroyed my back and a dining room table chair is more supportive and your back and butt don’t hurt after using it. I wouldn’t use one of these chairs to sit by a campfire. If they handled things differently, I would’ve kept my opinion to myself. Having Parkinson’s, blood and bone cancer and seizures, I shouldn’t have to be doing the repairs for them. I had my son put it together and everything was torqued properly and every time that something failed, I had to have him drive 250 miles to fix it for me but they didn’t care about that. Start sending your people out to fix them and you absorb the cost and see if you change some things about the chair instead of sitting around a table to decide whether to replace a part or not. They got my $800 to $900 (between there) like they wanted, so they didn’t care about customer service.

What is this long form content??!? πŸ˜‚

  17. @Muffinsmasher on October 6, 2025 at 1:53 am

It’s crazy how ergo chairs always have brick armrests… Idc if my back feels good if my arms are falling asleep. Would padded armrests really be consequencisl? C’mon.

  19. @UrdadNah on October 6, 2025 at 1:59 am

Not me who got a secret lab gaming chair from an market for 90Β£ and its like twice better than an office chairπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  20. @lightweightmcdonald on October 6, 2025 at 2:01 am

I believe thats almost if not identical to the mavix m5 chair made by the same parent company just the gaming side and its way cheaper! i almost got the M7. But great review i reciently bought the titan evo 2022 lamborghini edition so well see how that goes when it shows up in 2 days 😊

  21. @Backpackcarry on October 6, 2025 at 2:02 am

You payed 700$ for a shit chair.

  22. @Kubakpsv on October 6, 2025 at 2:03 am

Gaming chairs are ergo chairs with versatile full-back neutral posture support plus casual lounging options and fancy gamer look. So secret lab can’t blend anything it’s ergo from the start.

  23. @neil8398 on October 6, 2025 at 2:04 am

Thanks for the comparison! You should look at the ergotune supreme v3. Price is lower and looks more promising than the X-Chair!

  24. @InYourFace2day on October 6, 2025 at 2:04 am

Your original secret labs review got me to buy one. I will never regret it. The best decision I have made for my gaming setup. Thank you

  25. @steffren on October 6, 2025 at 2:07 am

I have an ergonomic chair very similar and the biggest problem is the almost plastic mesh. Feels so uncomfortable! Especially when you’re heavy, the seat ends up feeling like concrete. Then again a gaming chair for Β£500? Guess I’ll just buy a cushion.
