The Ultimate Pocket Camera

The Ultimate Pocket Camera

The Fujifilm XF-10 is a premium compact camera that fits in your pocket. It’s a great alternative to the X100v and Ricoh GRiii at half the cost (or less). It was released in 2018 and is now discontinued, I hope Fujifilm keeps making pocket cameras like this.

This is the perfect everyday camera and I think its super underrated! Let me know what you think in the comments.

  2. @danieldevine on September 30, 2025 at 12:52 am

what I need is a compact full frame same size as an Olympus XA… dont need 10fps or 6k video. I love my olympus XA but damn manual focus on it can be tricky after a few beers

I hate the pattern of YouTubers buying cheap, underappreciated gear to use as material for a video and inevitably drive the price to the moon. Literally only a single person wins in that arrangement, and everyone else loses.

  6. @KevinG_159 on September 30, 2025 at 12:56 am

Thanks Alex. I owned it, liked it, hated it (autofocus sucked) and prices went crazy high. However, the specs are great and I’m still looking for it, LOL. $843.00 used as of today 3/12/25 on KEH camera. Nucking futs!

Brought a Ricoh GR3 HDF last year, after a few months of use, it got dust on the sensor, worst of all, it happened right in the midst of my overseas trip. Now that I return to my trustworthy Fuji X70 and XF10.

Hi Alex! What film simulation do you use to get that results? Thanks

  9. @4hubby971 on September 30, 2025 at 12:56 am

Very helpful, thanks. Almost $900 used? Its a world gone mad.

  10. @metsfan3177 on September 30, 2025 at 12:57 am

Why can’t they make a decent point and shoot camera for folks that can’t afford $1000 for a camera? Very disappointing

  11. @abchappell01 on September 30, 2025 at 12:57 am

I absolutely love this camera 😊

  12. @Yayu-188 on September 30, 2025 at 12:58 am

If the snapshot modes give focus at 2m and above (which I imagine it would at f8), what’s the point of 5m and above? This would seem to be some kind of portrait mode vs landscapes mode, right?

You know, it looks good, yet, I have the X70, it’s very pleasant as the xf-10 must be , or my GR, and I thought of getting the XF-10 to get out of the 16mpx range. One must also admit that the X70 don’t always focus perfect. as I don’t use snap focus as much as with my GR.
But all together, it’s something else. Actually, even though it’s Fuji, I was very impressed the other day after watching a video off the Nikon Coolpix A, another 16mp also without antialias filter, and what nailed me was to me the much better color science coming out of it, than what I experienced with my GR, X70 and maybe even the old RX1R II that’s not ne most convenient camera despite what one could believe (also focus issues, erratic light metering sometimes, etc.).
So, surprised by that, I went on Flickr Nikon A photo group, and there too, in comparaison of the X70 and others I mentioned, I was impressed by the very righteous color and tone of that Nikon Coolpix A. Especially at night where colors are definitely better than my X70, here forget the GR out of tone and Sony is somewhat cold greyish (test on city at night) so now I hesitate. For larger mpx count and more advanced features the XF-10 may have, I don’t know if I’ll aim to get the XF-10 or the A. I was already lurking at the XF-10, knowing it’s another good compact APS-C but now, am I going to go with the A, which, surprisingly I found new on some New York camera site that must have had a load of them since it’s not grey market, I don’t know…
From all these shared thought, would you have any experience with the NIkon A ? That would be interesting to know your thoughts if you do, vs the XF-10 as it’s hard to see any YT video comparing them. Thank you for any insight…

  24. @TarekJellali on September 30, 2025 at 1:12 am

It’s been a moment I’m looking for a Fujifilm camera just to understand all the hype behind the Fujifilm cameras. I’ve looked for a lot of second hand options and never knew about the XF10. Regardless, it’s crazy that this camera costs more than an X Pro2 what the hell 🤯. People are selling it on eBay 760€ right now 😭.

  25. @kleec495 on September 30, 2025 at 1:16 am

I had the XF10, a great small camera on paper, but it never really excited me to use and I can’t quite pinpoint why. I sold it and bought the GR3x for double the price, and I’ve never regretted it.
Not sure if it’s just because it’s a low-end Fuji, but the jpeg presets on this camera aren’t as good as the ones on the Ricoh.

  26. @RetroRRR on September 30, 2025 at 1:17 am

PnS compact camera its relevan for me only for capability of zooming that hp cant achieve it..short range and ordinary hp flagship can handle it almost perfectly.if really want to be a professional photography better get the mirroless camera or dsrl..this compact camera is waste money..

My impression is the Samsung NX Mini is the best pocket camera and for video too.

    1:33 GFX100RF 👀👀👀

  32. @ZisisKardianos on September 30, 2025 at 1:23 am

I bought it second hand but in as new condition for only 250€ from e-bay. As a complimentray always in pocket camera to my X-T3. Some times I get the impression that the sharpness of this camera surpasess that of the X-T3 with the kit lens. The absence of anti-aliazing filter in the XF10 is what makes its pictures to produce such amazing results.

  33. @mohtasin.fahmid on September 30, 2025 at 1:23 am

Got excited hearing 500$ and then opened amazon….

"Imagine if Fuji made a pocket sized Medium Format Camera" I mean the GFX100RF isn’t pocketable but is pretty close…

  36. @MrTiomanisland on September 30, 2025 at 1:25 am

Why you didnt try 4k video??? It takes 1 min to test it.

    No direct controls. Next.

  39. @senkawascott on September 30, 2025 at 1:36 am

I sure regret selling this camera. Back then I didn’t really understand how to shoot in the 28mm format. I bought it when it first came out and was reasonably priced. Now I’d really hesitate to buy it for what it sells for here in Tokyo. Too bad! Fuji – update it!😊

  40. @fritzv46 on September 30, 2025 at 1:36 am

Fuji camera transfer app is absolutely worthless addict around with it for three years. I’ll never buy or endorse or recommend purchasing a Fuji camera for that reason! It’s 2025 almost in a major player in consumer in professional gear cannot write a program that is easy to use fool proof quick and that’s what it supposed to. How can anyone explain that that’s my rant

  41. @andreasrochow5170 on September 30, 2025 at 1:37 am

The biggest disadvantages of the FUJIFILM XF10 are the prime lens and the fixed display. So the 11-year-old FUJIFILM X30 is definitely preferable to the XF10. Its lower resolution of the XTrans sensor is not the deal breaker.

  42. @Jet-Jots on September 30, 2025 at 1:39 am

Hello. I found your channel and this video to be greatly helpful. Is this recommendation still accurate? Also how does this compare to Fujifilm XS10. Appreciate you!

  43. @sleepwalkoncloud on September 30, 2025 at 1:40 am

    very very very expensive now!!!

  44. @MII36584 on September 30, 2025 at 1:42 am

I have dony alpha 5100 which i bought to learn photography but hardly used it becuase it doesnt fit in pocket and i hate carrying around. I want to take family photos and street photos only. Do you recommend to get this instead which fits in pocket and not overly priced.

  45. @martingreenberg870 on September 30, 2025 at 1:44 am

I wanted to like this camera. The fixed lens is too wide for me. I would have preferred a lens with a focal length between 35 and 50mm in full frame equivalence. The deal breaker for me is the lack of an EVF. I much prefer the EVF to using the LCD screen. Otherwise this is a cool camera.

I had the X70 for many years and was hoping for an updated version which never came. I liked that it had a tilt screen to shoot from the hip.

  47. @BrianHallmond on September 30, 2025 at 1:45 am

Compact Cameras are good if you want to leave your phone at home and not be distracted from the photography experience.

  48. @RealBenPalmer on September 30, 2025 at 1:48 am

They need to update this. It will sell like hotcakes

  49. @film.mrclle on September 30, 2025 at 1:48 am

Hey, what do you think about the x30 in 2025? Thanks so much 😊

  50. @mgml on September 30, 2025 at 1:52 am

This was thought of as an upgraded model to the X70 which I had/sold and regretted. I considered getting this as a replacement but there are few reviews of this camera that doesn’t mention ‘autofocus’ problems with some reviewers saying it was so bad as to make it infuriating to use. You mention you use the 2 metre mode which seems a good way to go. Have you tried the autofocs mode? How did you find it?
