Wow it sounds πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰. Very clear! Thank you so much πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰. I’m really happy about sharpening my knowledge on the difference of amplifiers. I have Denon A/V receiver and B&W 604 Home Cinema Package. I’m very proud of it. Cheers πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰.

How can i connect my wireless microphone onkyo tx-sr313

  5. @TruthHasSpoken on August 26, 2025 at 10:28 pm

Bought a Denon 3800 over Thanksgiving and love it. Both theatre (5.1.2) and stereo sound terrific.

    Thanks a lot, man!

I picked up my stuff from fb marketplace. Marantz SR73 with a phono input for $60. Used pair of Polk tower speakers for $125.
I got a Pro-ject T1 record player for $399 and a Wiim Mini from Amazon for $89 with cheap $14 DAC. All housed in a cheap refinished stereo cabinet from fb too. Man cave must!

    Very informative and direct. Subbed!

Would you count a device that takes several audio inputs from different sources, and outputs them to speakers, without any processing, 1:1 as still only amplifier or as receiver?

I do posses such a device, it has 8 separate stereo inputs and output for stereo speakers, and it has only power button, capacitive source selector, and, very helpfully unlabelled "volume" or "gain" knob.

  11. @kiillabytez on August 26, 2025 at 10:37 pm

I never really listened to broadcast radio, so I’m a big advocate for amps.

  12. @ontheroadid on August 26, 2025 at 10:38 pm

So what’s the difference between amp and pre-amp? What peripherals require both and which require only one?

  13. @CheMathiewNgayihiAbbe on August 26, 2025 at 10:38 pm

Which is more expensive between the two?

  14. @sarkardragon on August 26, 2025 at 10:40 pm

still i have a question, what about not integrated amplifiers? just bought a dual mono amp, and pluged my dac direct on it, sounded terrible lol. some says that a preamp is needed to make it sound good, even if it has plenty of power rightway, dont know much about it, maybe someone can explain it better for us, thanks

  15. @octavianr526 on August 26, 2025 at 10:41 pm

I rarely saw an amplif without volume, treble, bass control – these are high end amplif with a preamp. The video is not ok. An only audio amp is made with a higher quality overall

  16. @purposedestiny3256 on August 26, 2025 at 10:42 pm

    Thank you! New subbie.
I’m in the process of setting up
My home theater and I am so happy I can at b this video first. I was clueless what receiver to get. You answered enough of my questions and cleared up a lot of confusion.
Now what does 5.1 and these numbers mean?

  17. @paudrudis9169 on August 26, 2025 at 10:42 pm

    Thanks for the help!

  18. @postersm7141 on August 26, 2025 at 10:43 pm

Now I’m really gonna blow your mind. What about an integrated amp versus a dedicated power amp and separate preamp? I actually run monobloc power amps to my left and right speakers with a separate preamp. But of course this is high-end audio file stuff for two channel audio.

  19. @phonicbeast302 on August 26, 2025 at 10:45 pm

What if i run video from bluray player to tv and audio to sterio receiver or is there a benifit to running both av through av receiver???

  20. @1974ppd on August 26, 2025 at 10:45 pm

Thanks for clearing my long pending question, does a receiver have amp ❀

  21. @jeovanny_007 on August 26, 2025 at 10:46 pm

I got a question there is something that i can use to output audio to a lot of speakers like an home theater with optical audio, different speakers that just have a positive and negative cable?

  22. @serz1885 on August 26, 2025 at 10:47 pm

but you can use them together no?

  23. @MichaelB1979 on August 26, 2025 at 10:47 pm

    Good info

  24. @khunthaasmyseed-h6v on August 26, 2025 at 10:47 pm

Amplifiers with tone controls are simply Amplifiers with a preamp.

  25. @denismpoiriersr3339 on August 26, 2025 at 10:48 pm

A receiver has and amplifier, preamplifier, and tuner in it. These can be combined as a preamp-tuner, or an integrated preamp power amp.

  26. @El_Gordo_Loco on August 26, 2025 at 10:48 pm

Perfect thank you for the info you got down to the point I was looking for.

  27. @stevemendez3535 on August 26, 2025 at 10:50 pm

I am from Fort Worth, Texas, I am totally blind. I have no vision whatsoever, I lost my site seven years ago. But I have a surroundsound system with the receiver that has no Bluetooth capability or no aux cord plug outlet. So my question is I love the system. It’s an amazing system but I cannot use it currently the way it is right now, so what I am asking is is there a way I can use this or an adapter or some type so I can use this for Bluetooth or is there a way I can hook up an aux cord because I am trying to use my Alexa with it and if I can use my Alexa with it, I will be able to use voice commands. Hope you can help me and God bless. Thank you.

What you explained is the difference between Power Amplifier and Integrated Amplifier.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

  29. @lewis72 on August 26, 2025 at 10:50 pm

    This video is nonsense.
*Control amp* – Connects all the sound sources together in one box, so the user can switch between them. Also allows user to control volume & possibly bass/treble & balance.
*Power amp* – No controls, just amplifies a signal input, from the control amp, to output to the speakers.
*Amplifier* – Common name for an integrated amplifier. i.e. control amp & power amp in one box.
    *Reciever* – Integrated amplifier.+ radio.

  30. @johnsukeforth on August 26, 2025 at 10:51 pm

Amps are great, just realize you also need a preamp too

  35. @fredantonius8606 on August 26, 2025 at 11:00 pm

For two channel stereo listening, would a 100 watt receiver produce the same power and sound quality as a 100 watt integrated amp?

  36. @Vartan297 on August 26, 2025 at 11:01 pm

Mind blown… hahahaha. The fact that it’s called a receiver is because it has a radio receiver built in πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  37. @The-Sea-Dragon-1977 on August 26, 2025 at 11:07 pm

Been using HiFi for 33 years now and always worked on the premise that β€˜you only have what you need in the box’ on the basis of more circuitry = more degradation of signal.

So my HiFi set up uses an pure amplifier.
My office set up has a receiver so I can link my phone by Bluetooth for easy access & the fact incoming calls interrupt the music.

Nice to hear it so clearly explained and I didn’t know what 5.1 etc meant so that was cool to understand too.

    Good job.

  40. @ericdavis8438 on August 26, 2025 at 11:12 pm

Recently rebuilt a speaker and amp system , Quad Amps and Castle speakers dedicated to play my old CD collection once again. I’m blown away with the richness and warmth of detail of the sound. Which is why when my all bells and whistles almighty B&W 5.1 AND Denon Reciever leaves me disappointed . The reason I watched the video was that there must be something more in the difference between amp v reciever or is this that my source is CD and I’m in a different room. Anyone?

  41. @lolocordell on August 26, 2025 at 11:12 pm

My only question here is what is the benefit of running an Xbox or pc through an av receiver rather than straight to the tv or monitor?

  42. @TupacSyndicateRappa on August 26, 2025 at 11:14 pm

Can I use AV Receiver for videoke/karaoke?

  43. @poserwannabe1 on August 26, 2025 at 11:15 pm

Its called an "Integrated Amplifier" not an "Amplifier" or "Power Amp", those are straight power and still require a pre-amp….peace.

  44. @taragozay on August 26, 2025 at 11:17 pm

I felt dumb for not knowing what a receiver is while working at a music store, thank you πŸ™

  45. @DavidRice-l2n on August 26, 2025 at 11:19 pm

Sounds really complicated how did you learn all this stuff Was it complicated

  46. @Jack-ur4in on August 26, 2025 at 11:20 pm

So connect all audio and video sources direct to the av amp … then run a SINGLE hdmi out (arc) from amp to my projectors hdmi input and that will give me both the video for all sources to view through the projector and also the sound for all video through the amp . Correct ?

  47. @midwestl7417 on August 26, 2025 at 11:20 pm

You have the clearest pronunciation among all English speaking males!

  48. @Vartan297 on August 26, 2025 at 11:21 pm

The only real difference between an Amp and a receiver- is the one that you forgot to mention… a receiver has a tuner built in. Plus how many amplifiers – unless you’re talking about industrial amps for instruments etc have you seen that say gain and not volume on them? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I mean, literally- what the hell? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ 98% of all Hifi amplifiers say Volume on them not gain… πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  49. @Johny40Se7en on August 26, 2025 at 11:22 pm

Thanks for this, it’s very helpful.
