    I’m surprised he isn’t using z-wave.

  2. @StuartKicks on August 22, 2025 at 9:58 pm

The Orbi are genuinely terrible! I had them and sold them off to use my ISP supplied router lol who wants a subscription for their WiFi lol

  3. @Isabel-of4wq on August 22, 2025 at 9:59 pm

Marques I’d love to do all this but being a privacy freak I don’t want the world watching my life … you’re obviously (!) a superstar so how do you manage tech privacy controls? It seems companies are moving in the direction of selling products with no actual security features but then offering a subscription for that (yes I’m looking at you Netgear routers with no privacy unless you buy a subscription to Armor) which is a big NO NO for me …

  4. @llw-t4g on August 22, 2025 at 9:59 pm

WOW, today I know you are a Canadian until I saw your adapter, I thought you are a American before!

Home assistant is for sure the way to go. It supports basically all smart home tech. Literally amazing

  12. @DGYtown on August 22, 2025 at 10:02 pm

Can we get a 2024 update please

  13. @diceflawless9115 on August 22, 2025 at 10:04 pm

My battery lasts like two months at my apt complex. That’s with people constantly walking by

  14. @Runeansfelt on August 22, 2025 at 10:05 pm

Not sure what I am doing wrong but I cannot even get close to 900 mbps speeds. Even though I have a 1000/1000 fiber connection and a wired mesh network 😅…

  15. @tsizzle on August 22, 2025 at 10:07 pm

Nest Learning Thermostat can’t even do “hold” temperature setting. 👎

  16. @qlusia on August 22, 2025 at 10:08 pm

  17. @MarianoTamply on August 22, 2025 at 10:09 pm

  19. @mylesfrost335 on August 22, 2025 at 10:12 pm

tbh the idea of having an internte connected smart lock, weirds me out

  20. @go4me2k on August 22, 2025 at 10:14 pm

Bro, get the smart light switches instead of bulbs. The bulbs are extremely glitchy and on occasion (year or so) they can all just go off and then you will have to do the whole set up. Switches are much more reliable and you don’t have to worry about getting over priced bulbs. The only downside is that you won’t be able to change light bulb colors.

  27. @mukkaar on August 22, 2025 at 10:27 pm

I agree on everything but having google branded home tech.

  28. @foreverfrederick on August 22, 2025 at 10:27 pm

My entire house is running Google Home as well. I literally ran out of wall plugs and had to use power strips to connect all my gadgets 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  29. @Winter-u8u on August 22, 2025 at 10:29 pm

Box Office of this movie had to of been $950,000,000,000,000

  30. @photent on August 22, 2025 at 10:30 pm

I have a normal switch in my bathroom that turns on both light and fan, does anyone know if there’s smart solution to just be able to turn fan on? At night when showering i turn on a dim lamp instead to keep my circadian rythm in check.

  31. @JayP787 on August 22, 2025 at 10:31 pm

You need something like Control4 or even HomeAssistant.

  32. @abdallahsadig5847 on August 22, 2025 at 10:33 pm

    We need an update

  33. @shane7133 on August 22, 2025 at 10:35 pm

So I’ve looked but haven’t come across anything, but has he done a recent video on the best smart lock for 2024? Does anyone have any recommendations on something reliable?

  34. @Midnight_Gardener on August 22, 2025 at 10:37 pm

I do the same in the morning. I hate mornings, but whenever i turn the alarm off, Alex’s turns my TV on, tells me the day, the date, the current temperature inside, the current temperature outside, the weather forecast, whats on my calendar, plus a couple business related things

  35. @Johnny91832 on August 22, 2025 at 10:38 pm

    1080p video is awful looking.

  36. @DGYtown on August 22, 2025 at 10:38 pm

Can we get a 2025 update please

  37. @buddhstyle on August 22, 2025 at 10:39 pm

    Google? No thanks

  38. @dorkboi2047 on August 22, 2025 at 10:40 pm

I use Eufy products because some of it’s products are Apple Homekit compatible. Stopped using Ring because Eufy with Homekit + iCloud subscription is a great save.

  39. @iamnealcain on August 22, 2025 at 10:41 pm

@MKBHD what would you suggest for those of us that want to live in the Apple ecosystem?

  40. @stevewright1539 on August 22, 2025 at 10:41 pm

Slowly moving away from the inconsistency of Phillips Hue and moving to Lutron smart switches with regular LED’s and DMF lighting. Couple that with HomeKit and Home Assistant and it’s a pretty stable system.

  41. @itsGreghere on August 22, 2025 at 10:43 pm

After a decade of being a Google fan boy, I can honestly say that Home Assistant is where it’s at for smart home systems. Google Home keeps getting worse, not better.

  42. @TonyZamboni-tp7yy on August 22, 2025 at 10:44 pm

yo bro same satelite of orbi!!!

1000 dollars later? I live like the Jetsons y’all. No joke. My home is totally automated.

  45. @ronali4692 on August 22, 2025 at 10:49 pm

This is def not a nest ad…….dude fell off, I hope he loses all his success. Sellout.

  46. @Burritosarebetterthantacos on August 22, 2025 at 10:52 pm

The Nest thermostats are pretty terrible. They still use internal batteries even though they are hardwired and as the batteries fail so will your hvac. I’ve seen many houses with feeezing pipes because the Nest failed without warning, including my own. My Dad owned an HVAC company and refused to use Nest because of my research. The engineers at Nest even told me it’s not ideal.

  47. @salahsoliman5752 on August 22, 2025 at 10:53 pm
