For those of you who have been following this channel for a while, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with health optimization and one of my favorite tools has been the continuous glucose monitor from Levels Health. I’ve worn a CGM on my arm almost every day since September 2020. Here are the pros and cons of wearing a CGM and what I’ve learned.

Nice advert, I wanted to know the number and how to read it.

    Stay awake from SIBIONICS
I bought two sensors. Completely unreliable with differences more than 100% of the real value! In a few words: Chinese product. Stay away. it’s a scam.

It’s game changer. Indeed. For the pocket of producers.

Don’t eat fiber. Just eat mostly meat. That is what I do for my bowel situation.

Hi I was wondering why the glucose spike is always so important rather than the travel time after the spike? I have no medical qualifications at all so maybe I’m missing something. Logically if your spiking glucose level returns to normal in an ‘acceptable time’ then the insulin response is ok, if the spike takes a long time to return to normal then insulin resistance is indicated. Pinning down that ‘acceptable time’ would therefore be more important.

  9. @RickyCoco11 on August 18, 2025 at 9:56 pm

Great video! You should make one about how different types of foods affected your blood sugars

  10. @yodaddamilkman8422 on August 18, 2025 at 9:56 pm

    Just stop eating carbs

  11. @ferrisbeuler8657 on August 18, 2025 at 9:57 pm

If you have IBD/IBS drop the fibre. Doctors who adopted a nutritional approach to patient care will tell you, you don’t need fibre for gut health. Remove carbs as an energy source and switch to healthy fats for energy instead. It will stabilize your glucose and fix your gut.

Do you use the real-time streaming Levels CGM or the manual scan Levels CGM?

  21. @jcedar25 on August 18, 2025 at 10:14 pm

IBS + trying to stabilize blood sugars has been a constant struggle for years! Thank you for this video. Levels has definitely helped me better understand that sweet spot of balancing the two, not to mention a lifelong struggle with hypoglycemia. After 10 days with Levels I am already becoming much better at eating the right foods at the right time for me.

  22. @sw6118 on August 18, 2025 at 10:16 pm

My experience has been that doctors refuse to recommend CGMs because they don’t think patients will make the necessary lifestyle changes. It’s great that we don’t need a prescription for them if you use stelo or lingo-be careful only one of them works on an adroid.

It’s great testing out what foods/what level of carb creates the spike. We’re all different.

    This is an old video.

Regarding IBD, there are 2 hidden culprits that caused a lot of intestinal issues for me. One is the wax coating they put on many “fresh” fruits and vegetables. The other is the way produce, particularly lettuce, is cleaned. Even organic produce can be coated with a waxy substance and can still be labeled organic with no indication it’s been coated. I think many chemicals are used when produce is washed in large batches and some is purposefully retained on the outer layer to retard bacterial growth. I stopped eating any fresh produce I can’t peel and the difference is dramatic. Frozen produce doesn’t bother me at all and I’ve been growing lettuce and herbs hydroponically, which is amazingly easy.

I want to buy Levels but they require your consent to enroll you in a research study using the bio data gathered from the patch. Which means my bio data is going to 3rd parties which I’m not comfortable with

  25. @svetlananana9609 on August 18, 2025 at 10:22 pm

I loved this detailed review. It is exactly what I have been looking for🎉

  26. @gabiglaezer8685 on August 18, 2025 at 10:24 pm

Thanks for sharing, very good information!

  27. @mikesummers9103 on August 18, 2025 at 10:24 pm

I would use it to be honest and create a system that trends towards improvement. If I was a perfectionist this would be insane though, lol

  28. @Mishk on August 18, 2025 at 10:27 pm

Just a heads up – He is drinking Topo Chico which in tests was found to have really high levels of PFAS. Just saying, if health is of concern, probably drink a different sparkling water.

  29. @rivergreen37 on August 18, 2025 at 10:27 pm

i used a CGM for a while and it was super eye opening 🙂 but i still wanted lab data to back it up 😅 ran fasting insulin, A1C, and glucose tests to get the full picture, had results fairly quick. btw I used vital test hub for the labs, maybe that helps someone else connect the dots between symptoms and spikes too

  30. @MickPletcher on August 18, 2025 at 10:30 pm

Thanks for that review. I am definitely going to rent one of these for at least two months to track my blood sugar levels while training for the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim. I think this will be a great training tool to show me exactly when to take in carbs during The trek and during the training.

  31. @miggiewithdafro on August 18, 2025 at 10:31 pm

This is a great video. I am doing research on which one i want to buy or try out. It makes sense that wearing over a long time would give you more data to work with and learn from.

  32. @JoepSwagemakers on August 18, 2025 at 10:31 pm

ohhh so this was s sponsored video! Thanks for letting me know that from the start! 🙁

  33. @zoltangaal1842 on August 18, 2025 at 10:34 pm

Kevin, Do you advertise the mineral water that you’re sipping while on Youtube?

You don’t really stick to the title. I wonder why?

  34. @Tiki_Media on August 18, 2025 at 10:34 pm

Ha, shame on me. It took me until more than half the video to realize this is probably a paid promotion for Levels.

    Cons: Rabbit hole

  36. @username20213 on August 18, 2025 at 10:38 pm

I’ve been dealing with blood sugar stuff for a while, but unswt has made it so much easier to figure out what works for me. The AI sugar tracker shows me exactly how different foods affect my levels, and it’s been a game changer. If you’re looking for something easy and helpful, definitely give it a go!
