I’m not sure how many people are watching their $2000 OLED state-of-the-art television in a brightly lit living room. This is a theater tv and gamer’s paradise not an afternoon game show watching tv.
I’m in hunt for 2 TVs as I’m shifting to my new home, one for my living area and another for my home theatre. After much thought I have decided on 65” Bravia 8 m2 for living area since it’ll be heavily used for cable and streaming contents and LG G5 for home theatre for movies. Samsung sadly is not my cup of tea because of the matte coating, maroon tint of its panel, raised black levels in bright room and lack of Dolby vision. Hopefully I made the right choices 😅
Only the 65 inch Samsung F series is a QD-oled
Mate, there is an easier and much faster way to change input source on the G5. Just push and hold the button, instantly you can select the input.
I hate the reflective bezel on the G5- – I like the TV otherwise.
I would happily pay an extra £100 to have a cpu that is snappy like the apple tv or even the nvidia shield. I dont get why the TV interface has to be so sluggish in comparison!

Is the Samsung s95f worth upgrade from LG C7?
QD OLED is much better compared to the outdated WOLED Tech. Tizen is much better than WebOS.

I had an S95D which I used for a year as a gaming TV and although the matte screen is not as bad as some people write, I still prefer a glossy screen a bit more. I don’t know why Samsung is forcing people to be happy. If they gave them a choice and also released the S95F gloss, I would choose their gaming TV without a doubt, but in this case, the choice will probably fall on the G5.It’s a real shame because the QD Oled panel is being wasted (unfortunately, Sony didn’t go too far with the Bravia 8)
don’t understand why Samsung is trying to make people happy and lose customers by only offering a matte screen. I think if the S95F were also available in a glossy version, sales would be higher. I had the S95D for a year, and the matte screen is definitely not as bad as some people say, but it’s still a matte screen, which is obvious. Personally, I prefer a glossy screen, which is why I passed on the S95F and am considering the G5 or Z95B for gaming.
In India the s95f 55" is around $1950 and g5 for $2250 and I got the s95f for $1850 with bargain so It’s an obvious choice when I can get s95f for the price of g4,I don’t think the few advantages of g5 compensates a $300-400 difference
Panasonic Z95B is better than both
Samsung aftersale services are a major let down

Good/timely video for me. Question: on these models is it required to have an account with Samsung/LG? I use an AppleTV and only want to be able to receive firmware updates. Really trying to reduce the glut of accounts I have and data I’m handing over.
So many Samsung fanboys Here 😂 Samsung anti reflective coating also has a downsize, it washes out blacks in bright environments.
Also the gaming review was hard to watch… not even actually
You don’t even mention why you needed to switch an really good tv (LG G5) with and comparable tv…
If you cant afford Sony lg is best
If you LOVE films buy a Sony (if you can afford it) if you want all round features you can’t beat the LG, if you want a stupid Matt finish that disrupts viewing angles, no DV or DTS, shoddy build quality, MUCH more chance of burn in (proven on Rtings channel before you cry) get the Samsung!
I gave up on Samsung years ago when I only purchased Samsung tvs but they were going faulty in the first 12 months on 2 new sets!
Oh and ALWAYS use an Apple TV I wouldn’t be without one!

Hey Mate to swap the inputs on the G5, there is a much quicker way, just push the button beneath the volume button and you can change inputs from HDMI 1 through to 4
Great comparison video! And thank you for covering the return policy for these two TVs. Sadly, most reviewers seem so dependent on selling TVs via their affiliate links that the cons of returning one are rarely, if ever, discussed. Kudos for mentioning it—you’ve earned a subscriber for that alone.
Sadder still, most consumers never think about the return policy until they’re stuck in a nightmare scenario of having to do just that. I learned this the hard way recently when I was almost forced to keep a TV that arrived with puncture holes and asphalt markings in and all over the box, as if the TV had been dragged behind the delivery truck. That experience will definitely have me paying closer attention to that in the future.

Interestingly that’s a Samsung policy. Not just tv. They made me pay to return my S25 ultra earlier in the year. I challenged it with my credit card company and they upheld my challenge and refunded me. It’s not legal and lots on Reddit complaining about it.
LG doesn’t have better image quality than S95F with all of its false color contouring and banding. Problems with 165hz and HDR10 fixed only on filmmaker mode. It placed 4th place in USA tv shootout.
Please for the love of the lord do not watch TV in filmmaker mode… No one cares what the director intended. For all we know they indended the movie to be watched on a 40 grand reference monitor or they did not care about it at all. Watch movies in mode the you like the best. if that happens to be the washed out and colorless filmmaker mode, so be it. But do not do it just because you think it’s supposed to be the way to watch it.

It feels like you are playing in Vivid or Dynamic mode, is there a reason for that?
The Matt finish can be removed on the S95F using the wet paper towel method, and it is glossier than G5 after that. QDOLED is the best technology
Does 55" inch S95F use QD OLED panel? I thought only 65" and 77" use the QD OLED panels from Samsung Display but every other S95Fs use LG WOLED panels.
QD-OLED colour volume is just something else when playing games. Explosions are not only bright but are also very colourful.
I also had a g5 and s95f side by side for 1month I kept the s95f
did your have ITVX and other catch up tv apart from BBC Iplayer? on the g5
I’d choose the g5 , better reliability, better return policy, better software support , better blacks , I prefer the glossy screen.
Im not going to lose features or picture quality every time there is an update, samsung recently removed HGIG on their older models
And most of all all devices I use use dolby vision but not all use hdr10 so it’s a huge no
