Regarding money I am leaning more to SteamDeck OLED or Legion. I really like the idea you can detach the screen from the handhelds with Legion. But SteamDeck seem more userfriendly and has OLED. Damn, I just dont know 😀
I had the OG Ally Z1 Extreme. And sold it once I got a Legion GO for Christmas.
Definitely love the legion Go. But Ally is still a very solid little machine.
I had the sd lcd 9 months ago I sold it for the rog ally z1 mush power full better performance but the major flaw has me regretting it is the battery sucks so day2 i bought a dock maybe next yr ill get the rog x if I can find a deal but the steam deck oled is best value overall but limited and the MSI claw with the intel chip besides the updates was rushed into production and that killed it

I always loved the 3DSXL but hated how big the switch was, pushed me to be more of a PC gamer. Picked up a switch oled the other month and can’t seem to enjoy it other then when it’s docked. Basically I’m struggling to find that “feel” I had with the 3DSXL and older versions
The steam deck is piss poor! There’s sweet fuck all decent new games that are actually verified for the deck they’re just the average crap that it can run! If it’s a steam product it needs to be able to play and run every game on the damned store not a pathetic choice of non graphic dense lame games! There’s no memory or graphics that run my steam games! Even older games aren’t even steam verified and a lot of games don’t work very well on the steam deck even though they’re deck verified!
i want the legion go but with Linux and i intetend to do so some how lol
i think the claw is the best compared top the price 250usd you get one for here and better than the steam deck
The most important Reason that I will take steamdeck over any handheld is the suspend function, it just makes gaming for a Family much more enjoyable
I lost trust of the steam deck because my release model stopped charging. I don’t want to buy OLED because i’m afraid the same thing will happen.
Trying to build a really simple rig for playing American Trucking Simulator. Was using Nvidia GeForce Now via my Xbox SX, but there’s no support for wheels (Logitec G923) so it’s not really working out. I do most of my gaming primarily on my Xbox SX, and don’t want to really play on PC. Will the Asus ROG run American Trucking sim with the Logitech G923 connected to a 65” 4K Screen? I don’t mind running it at 1080P with settings maxed.
In regard to the speakers. At first the sound was ass. But I found a comment on another video that said to turn off audio enhancement in windows settings for the speaker and the sound quality improved quite a bit.
Damn I didn’t even know all these existed lol
Am I crazy for thinking about buying the Ally? Or the Legion Go?

OG Steam deck user. Bought the lowest storage option and did the internal storage mod myself.
A bit jealous of the bigger screen of the OLED, but other than that my machine hits all the notes I need.
Which is best for gta v online ?
Got my SteamDeck at launch and have not seen any reason to upgrade yet as it runs everything I play quite well including some demanding titles like Fallout 76, Elden Ring, Yakuza, etc. The extra power of say the ROG Ally X can be lost in the small screen but can be better appreciated when Docked to external Video; so I would definitely chose that one if it was my only gaming source. In the meantime I will wait for the next generation of SteamDecks and the competitor’s response before considering to upgrade.

Love my lanovo one you get the right driver it’s a Beast can play any game at 60 fps no problem rust escape from tarkov and meny more game I use it as a desktop
I’m avoiding the ally for bad customer service and them doing their very best not to refund you or actually fix your ally
I think I’ll wait for a Legion Go 1.5 upgrade since it’s exactly what I’m looking for in a handheld

I wouldn’t be interested in any of these if Nintendo just let me jailbreak my switch. But Nintendo hates it’s customers and wants to make sure you can only do what they want with your switch.
6 months ago, hands down, I would have said an upgraded 64GB Steam Deck. Now, for my needs, for my emulation tastes, it is certainly the Rog Ally Extreme Z1. I think that the Rog Ally X costs way too much for what it is. It has the same basic processor as the Z1 Extreme anyway. The only real good thing about the X, is that the X uses a full sized 2280 NVME. Other than that, the X doesn’t really do anything that the Z1 Extreme doesn’t do, but it costs way more money.
What about games from epic store? Is steamdeck able to play them without a lot of hassle?

Legion Go is far superior if you are over 30, letters on screen are much more comfortable to read, and with the stand it willl continue to function as a powerful tablet (even in portrait) long after it gets left behind as a gaming device.

The Legion Go is easily the best of them all. I have the Ally and hate it. The Lego is really a masterpiece because it gets the whole thing right. Can’t wait to see the second one.

Got it for 6 days and returned it. Multiple crashes, decreased and my sounds stopped working. After trying fixes I decided to just return that pos.

I was going to get the Steam Deck for the OLED but the ROG Ally (original) was hundreds of dollars less. I’m loving the Ally, it runs everything, includes XBox, Steam, and Playstation apps, can run anything. And comes with a full blown Windows 11 license. Not concerned about the battery, got tons of external batteries lying around the house already and usually use it plugged in anyway.
The issue I hear with the ASUS ROG ALLY is that it has the potential to damage SIM cards and ASUS has even recently admitted to it.
