cant get it to work trying to find a cord or something to work since i dont have a usb c port on my computer but cant get it to work
Installing a ssd into a enclosure isn’t building. The title is wrong. Just state “Installing your own ssd in a enclosure”
High quality SSD for almost half a price and upgradability is definitely worth it!

I do photo editing on a late 2015 iMac and have built several external ssd HD’s using Samsung Evo internal drives. Is there any reason I can’t use an NVMe on this older computer?

Dude thank you! I knew this was a thing but i had no idea how easy this really was! I will definitely be looking into this instead of buying those unreliable external ssds which also cost a fortune.

You did NOT show how you first communicated to the drive. I made my own SSD external drive but my linux system does not see the drive. I was hoping to perhaps find out what I need to do to the drive to "make it come alive".

No, this will not be cheaper, because the SSD disk costs significantly, a ready-made USB SSD disk is cheaper.

USB 3.2 connectivity is not fast for Macs. It’s currently unsupported and will cap read and write speeds at around 900mb/s no mater how fast the ssd is. You have to have an enclosure with Thunderbolt connectivity. I just learned this and almost waisted money. Please research yourself if anyone is working with a Mac

Thank you for the video. I have external Seagates SSD’s… 2 TB… My problem is first, there’s now about 1/4 full ( a little over 500 BG) but now my computer struggles to work – So question is, how can you have that much storage and yet not have the RAM affected by that drive? Also, what type of computer do you recommend as far as RAM when using something that’s got more than 1/4 T?
It’s actually MORE expensive to buy a hynix nvme SSD and an enclosure. A lot cheaper to buy a ready made one on Amazon.
