I have one of each of these, both 4TB. Love both of them; travel with the faster T9, while the T7 stays home connected to my NAS for additional storage.

Copying a 10GB file from my Windows desktop to the SSDs, the T7 did it in 18 seconds. The T9 did it in 11 seconds.

Samsung has the worst warranty, no mention in the video. There are plenty of good brands out there, just search for it.

I Bought Samsung T9 and excited to transfer a bunch of photos from my iPhone 15pm but every time I transfer photos and videos there’s always a copy of IMG file that cannot open and its file size is only 4kb and also has a same file name of the photos that I copied…. could you tell what it is…??? or Do I need to do something… It’s really annoying I transfer 1000 photos and there’s also 1000 copies of blank files with a file size of 4kb each sorry but I’m not techie hope someone helps… I tried to google it but can’t find it…

My t7 shield is only a year old and already faulty with speeds at 2m/s for minutes before it reaches its normal speed. Worst purchase ever.

  8. @MegaAshfire on May 3, 2025 at 3:35 pm

In India the difference is only 15%, so I think I will future proof it with T9. Thanks for the upload!

I want to use with only Samsung S23 Ultra. I need a 2TB. So T7 or T9 which one is suitable for me?
BTW I’m from India. The price of T7 2TB and T9 2TB are same.
I want to use in long term to store my Vlog raw clips.

Which can I use with iPhone 16 pro max 4k 120fps?

  28. @HideBuz on May 3, 2025 at 4:06 pm

Both are trash. The last good one is the T5. Samsung uses defective memory chips for the T7 and higher models that overheat and die after a few month.

  36. @besmart2350 on May 3, 2025 at 4:14 pm

Can I format the Samsung T7 Shield or T9 SSD to APFS or any other format that is not originally preinstalled on these drives? Will doing so damage the SSDs? Will they work properly with a new format? Will their password protection software be reinstallable after formatting?

I’m technologically illiterate, so I’m not sure how to check if my laptop has the usb 3.2 gen 2×2 ports, if laptops even have that? For reference, my laptop is a acer swift sf314-512 (2022). It’s fine if it doesn’t support it since it is future proof if i ever decide to upgrade to a pc.

  41. @gustavovargasmendoza9400 on May 3, 2025 at 4:17 pm

what about The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra would They run at 2000mps do they Support USB 3.2 Gen 2×2?

  42. @prashantkumarsharma4766 on May 3, 2025 at 4:17 pm

is that true that t7 has some heating issues so samsung has improved this issue in t9 by installing thermals?

  43. @ZTigerZMC on May 3, 2025 at 4:17 pm

    Hello bro, nice video !
I just wanna ask, will it be good for my Macbook M1 Ari ? I have only 256gb and i need it for video editing ( just FullHD, rarely 4K) So would it be good choice ( T7 ) and will it have heating problems ? Thanks a lot !

  44. @AlejandroGonzalez-zw1fz on May 3, 2025 at 4:20 pm

I saw that some people complains about the T7 has overheating and drop performance. What do you think?

  45. @Attya-y2y on May 3, 2025 at 4:21 pm

2:34 -> Hey. Here when you say more durable for the T7 shield, what do you mean exactly? More durable in terms of long term usage in transfering files, or just that it is more resistant to being dropped on the ground?

    Thanks 🙏

  46. @alpeshchaudhari5972 on May 3, 2025 at 4:22 pm

Is it t5 better then these both if i just want to store my photos and videos?

  47. @dgmarq on May 3, 2025 at 4:22 pm

Hi 🙂 T7 Shield works with iPhone? Can I transfer photos directly to iPhone? Thanks!

  48. @tomscott4438 on May 3, 2025 at 4:22 pm

On release, the T9 was much more expensive. But today, (on sale) there is only a $20 difference. For that, the T9 "future proof" is probably the way to go in 2025.
(Come on Apple, take the handcuffs off. Almost no one is making a Thunderbolt SSD, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon)

  49. @ppolleunus on May 3, 2025 at 4:22 pm

As technology is evolving fast and prices are dropping accordingly, it’s probably better to not invest/pay more now for a technology that we may need in the future… a technology that will be cheaper at that time.

  50. @lgo964 on May 3, 2025 at 4:24 pm

Hi, How does the T9 compare vs T7 when it comes to using it on Samsung galaxy smartphines?

I currently have a galaxy s23 ultra and trying to work out if its worth buying the T9 in order to back up my videos at double tje speed vs a T7

… or will the T9 be on par with the T7 in terms of video file transfer speed?

Many thanks in advance for your guidance and expertise here
