You seriously just need a NAS with NVME RAID to off your data payload to.. then do everything over a 25G network, and you get a centralized storage to manage your data

  2. @gosekinz on April 7, 2025 at 9:11 pm

Thunderbolt 5 >> anything if your machine can handle the speed.

  3. @RedEyrisFilms on April 7, 2025 at 9:13 pm

t7 is not even faster then a t5

  4. @accckiy on April 7, 2025 at 9:13 pm

I had doubts about it. Question, transfer from the old one to the computer. What is the speed of the computer for writing and reading? Maybe it writes slower than it reads? There was no transfer from the shuttle to the computer. Everything should be sevenfold to prove that it is the best

  5. @hakanyucel1639 on April 7, 2025 at 9:16 pm

    Why not test T9

  6. @aceentertainment2172 on April 7, 2025 at 9:17 pm

HOT TAKE: Get a NAS, kindly!

  7. @savingsoul on April 7, 2025 at 9:20 pm

Faster than a thunderbolt glyph? Idk

  8. @JbVest on April 7, 2025 at 9:20 pm

Wow don’t even tell us the megabyte per second or anything

  9. @bombdiggity7196 on April 7, 2025 at 9:21 pm

Transfer speed is the result of 3 factors: the speed of the drive internals, the speed of the interface, and the drive’s ability to sustain long writes (or reads) without speeds dropping off. Call it cache, although there’s more to it. In the real world, you can have the fastest best NVMEs ever, say 7000+ MB/sec, but if you plug it into an older USB C port or enclosure, you’ll never see more than about 1000MB/s. The same drive plugged into a Thunderbolt 4 setup will max out around 3000MB/sec. At the moment there’s really nothing faster. TB5 is out, but barely. If you want to see speeds beyond 3000MB/sec or so, you have to go internal right to the motherboard. Even then, that 7000MB/sec drive isn’t likely to sustain the 7000 they’re advertising. Bottom line, the case and port standards are more often the limiting factor these days.

whaddahell bruh! what are u doing with phone stopwatch? haven’t you heard of something called crystal disk mark? or even task manager resources tab? or the show more details menu? you are giving shit calculations instead of some actual info like read/write speeds?

  11. @chrisd997 on April 7, 2025 at 9:23 pm

bro do us a favour and buy nvme with an enclosure. What a f… video

  12. @InBoostWeTrust7MGTE on April 7, 2025 at 9:23 pm

all you need for the fastest USB drive is thunderbolt 5 enclosure and M.2 that match that speed.

  13. @allwinchris on April 7, 2025 at 9:23 pm

bruh bulid a server or get a nas

  14. @dominican200 on April 7, 2025 at 9:25 pm

Wait till he finds out about the external m.2 drives

  17. @MrTchou on April 7, 2025 at 9:29 pm

I Just transfered 265Gb in 53 seconds between my macbook pro and my external Thunderbolt 5 enclosure with an nvme ssd inside.

  18. @ImUncleServo on April 7, 2025 at 9:30 pm

saying ssd drive is like saying personal pc

  19. @JaimeLacayoPTY on April 7, 2025 at 9:30 pm

The fact that you don’t have a NAS baffles me.

  20. @lastsonofthewest2444 on April 7, 2025 at 9:31 pm

MB/s and the connection protocols, super imposed or mentioned would have helped.

  21. @Skasparoff on April 7, 2025 at 9:32 pm

Guys, remember to MIRROR your SSD to HDD because they demagnetize quickly without power (can even take 6 months)

  22. @ranjitmandal1612 on April 7, 2025 at 9:35 pm

    Crazy

  23. @JD-go1nq on April 7, 2025 at 9:36 pm

Fast, but not the fastest. This is a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure rated at less than 3000 MB/s. There are a few, not many, drives that have better bandwidth in Thunderbolt 3. I personally use a TB3 enclosure with a U.2 (not M.2) interface. My drive is a Micron 9300 Pro NvME 15TB SSD. Max bandwidth is ~3500 MB/S and no D cache limit to slow you down with those multi-TB transfers. If you copy 7TB to the Micron, it will run at max speed during the full copy. Also, the endurance is enterprise class. I will never wear out the Micron 9300 drive. I love the drive. Micron has a 9400 Pro also rated at 7000 MB/s +, but $$$$ right now for the 30TB size and you need Thunderbolt 5 for that bandwidth. I do think you should consider the Micron for full speed transfers and full speed video editing from your portable drive. These also have PPL. Power Loss Protection in case your drive is disconnected. The data will still be written for any data in flight when power is lost. About $1500 for the 15 TB model, the Microns are in a much better class, especially for important data.

Meanwhile my usb 3.1 stick takes 8 minutes for 3GB

  25. @Joepope0 on April 7, 2025 at 9:36 pm

    What’s that in Gbps? 20?25

  26. @ALEXbLack2 on April 7, 2025 at 9:38 pm

Less than near by 1/2 speeding and fastest more is near 1/2 speeding two different storage systems 😳. Just 1/2 time is different 6 min vs 3 min .
    Simply understand 1/2 different value.

  27. @leicaman on April 7, 2025 at 9:39 pm

Samsung”s T series drives are not terribly fast. And currently there are two contenders for fastest. The Sabrent and OWC Thunderbolt 5 drives. It’s not even close.

  28. @MaxPhotoGraphic on April 7, 2025 at 9:40 pm

Really curious about what to pick up. are the t/ stable on your experience?

  29. @Pakman0812 on April 7, 2025 at 9:40 pm

Can you use this to store only music on these??

  30. @NMIBUBBLE on April 7, 2025 at 9:40 pm

if the drive isn’t 2500/ms don’t want it! 8TB or more!

  31. @AlejandroCaicedoPUJ on April 7, 2025 at 9:42 pm

    Solid state drive drive

  32. @kevinmolloy1894 on April 7, 2025 at 9:42 pm

    Thanks!

  33. @matteocolor on April 7, 2025 at 9:42 pm

is it Thunderbolt 5? that’s the fastest bus right now.

  34. @jusadude7162 on April 7, 2025 at 9:48 pm

Are those 2 minutes all that important? 🤷🏼‍♂️

  35. @lovetodocoolstuff9309 on April 7, 2025 at 9:50 pm

Have you ever had your Samsung drives fail? I bought a T9 4 TB drive about six weeks ago and the blue light comes on but I cannot find it anywhere! Like anywhere, any computer, any cable, disk management, bios. 💨 gone!

  36. @marcceloselv on April 7, 2025 at 9:51 pm

    Try with Samsung T9

  37. @jedimind505 on April 7, 2025 at 9:53 pm

    And I thought I was a mad man for having 5 portal ssd’s 😅

  38. @throughagroundlens on April 7, 2025 at 9:55 pm

For all the people talking about cache, you can make your own external ssd that is triple the speed of a T7 and this space shuttle thing with an nmve M.2 and a thunderbolt enclosure

  39. @ckeilah on April 7, 2025 at 9:56 pm

Those T7 drives were great. Pisses me off that Costco quit carrying them.

  40. @ayushagarwal9530 on April 7, 2025 at 9:56 pm

Just get a nvme encloser with gen5 nvme make sure enclosure you buy supports your ssd speeds. Save money and get faster drive at the same time 😉

  41. @Joepope0 on April 7, 2025 at 9:58 pm

Today I transfers 106GB from an sd card to what I thought was a ssd but then I felt what a gyro effect and was like “WTF have I never held this while editing it’s an HDD and the transfer took an hour so now I’m gonna do the opposite form the hdd to and ssd

  42. @Viet-n2s on April 7, 2025 at 9:59 pm

Samsung T7 is kind of slow side, don’t compare with it!

  43. @bluemoves on April 7, 2025 at 10:01 pm

The Corsair EX400U is still faster and from a reputable company.

  44. @joebonsaipoland on April 7, 2025 at 10:02 pm

    Price??

  45. @juliashenandoah3965 on April 7, 2025 at 10:05 pm

If it hadn´t that absolute stupid-looking palm tree logo that fits in no way to the rest of this minimalist and military-design this SSD would look actually cool. And be worthy of the title "space shuttle". 😉

  46. @BOBBYGrijalva-x9o on April 7, 2025 at 10:05 pm

  47. @AliyanShahzad-b8p on April 7, 2025 at 10:06 pm

    so what is the speed

  50. @IvarsDayLab on April 7, 2025 at 10:07 pm

I bet SamsungT9 will be at the same speed.
