Integration is huge. That’s why things like matter compatibility are a must for me. Getting stuck in an echo system isn’t good for consumers or their wallets. Great video you can’t even get most of this info from the govee site. The plug test is a great catch. I would always make sure they are fully plugged in and no gap. You can have arching across plugs when a gap is present.

Do the gen 1 sensors work with the Gen 2 gateway?

Do you know if this will detect in a wet fiber glass insulation? (Newer version)

Reason is because I want to put them in the crawlspace. And I don’t want to put them on the floor because it’s uneven, and know knows where the water will be spraying.

I was thinking to maybe stick it in the joist, and if there is a leak, the insulation will act as a sponge. Therefore, triggering the sensors, but that is in theory in my head.

I already had 2 water damage, because the leak went unnoticed until he floor bubbled up.

Thanks for this… having to enable location on the Gen2’s is a deal-breaker for me and that’s not listed anywhere that I could find!

Why do you have to push down so hard on the towels to get it to alarm??? I never liked the feet on these sensors… you push so hard on the towel when u remove the sensor u can see the imprint of the sensor on the towel?? Will it not sense if you dont put pressure?

I like the gen 1, they operate on 433mhz ans I was able to wire it up into homeassistant.

I got the gen 1 and I’m running into an issue where I can’t hear the alarm in my basement when I’m 2 floors up. Is there way to group the alarms to all sound when one senses water or make it connect to a speaker.

I’m curious to know if sharing the location is only while you set it up or does it need know your location all the time. By the way, great video thank you so much.

Great feature, very helpful. Any idea if either of these are compatible with Apple HomeKit? Thanks!
